No overclocking or anything either. Works pretty good too.. 800x600 at low details, but still. Not choppy either, reasonably smooth. I was impressed!

Just thought I'd share.

EDIT: Oops, it's a Celeron 1.2GHz, even better.

Do you have another rig to play it on and justed wanted to test this? Or is this your only rig? Glad to hear it works... but if thats your only rig man you are missing out on alot of great detail.

No that's just my secondary computer.. my primary computer (that I play my games and stuff on) is an A64 3200 Claw with 1GB RAM and a 6600GT.

I was just posting because I saw a lot of threads complaining about BF2's requirements and how you need a beast of a computer. Hey, if it can run on a Celeron 1.2, it can run on anything ;).

I had a XP 3200+ with 1 gig of ram and a Radeon 8500 and it stuttered when I tried to fire my gun. I've upgraded to a Geforce 6800 and it's silky smooth now. :)

Celron 1.0a - 1.4 were actually good processors, P3-Tualatin based, cool running, and performed as well as a P4 that was several hundred MHz faster.

One of intel's good designs, like the P3s at 133 FSB, and the P4 C northwoods. Not their bad ones like most Celerons before and after except the 300a.

Yup, actually I'm really happy with it. I got it about 6 months ago as an upgrade for my P3 800, and it's great. But that doesn't change the fact that I was surprised as hell when I found out that BF2 actually ran well on it. The minimum requirements state a 1.7GHz processor after all...
