I have sort of stopped keeping up with the ever changing video card market...

What is a good card I can get that would allow me to play BF2

I have a mx400 128bit agp8x :(

What are some of my options? I think I'm going to get a new XPS laptop or just build a new system in a few months, but for now maybe something not too expensive, I dont want it DIRT cheap, just not 150$ or over....

I hear the 9800 pro can barely handle it, and I guess I'm pretty low on options as far as AGP8x.

Any help would be appreciated... Thanks

NF7 - S
Athlon 2500
512 RAM PC 3500
raptor drive

I know it sucks, but it all used to be good :)

I just lost interested a few years ago, and I just recently got into this game at a friends house

I used to have a ti4200 also, I'm not sure if the new one I have is better, I just had to buy this one when the other burned out a few months ago

I think this is the list of supported cards

- Video Cards
Battlefield 2 only supports the following video cards:
Radeon X700 (PCIe)
Radeon X600 (PCIe)
GeForce 6600 (PCIe)
GeForce PCX 5900 (PCIe)
GeForce 5800 Series (AGP)
ATI Radeon X800 XT Platinum Edition
ATI Radeon X800 PRO
ATI Radeon 9800 Series
ATI Radeon 9600 Series
ATI Radeon 9550 (RV350LX)
ATI Radeon 9500 / 9700 Series
ATI Radeon 8500 Series
ATI Radeon X300 Series
NVidia GeForce 6800 Ultra
NVidia GeForce 6800 GT
NVidia GeForce 6800
NVidia GeForce FX 5950 Series
NVidia GeForce FX 5900 Series
NVidia GeForce FX 5700 Series

I was looking at the 9800 pro XE but someone said the game ran laggy at 800 x 600 and thats no good :(

no dont get the 9000 series anymore....i guess a 7600gs on agp would be good...also, maybe try overclocking?....the nf7-s is a good overclocker i guess...try 3200+....and get a 7600gs for like 150$...or if you dont have enough budget, try a 6600 on agp...

If i OC to 3200 plus Will it overheat badly?
I have a thermaltake volcano 7 I think... the big orange one with the faceplate control

If I do that the 7600 would be best? or 6600?

7600 would be the best guy....but only if you can afford the one....

3200 would be hotter a bit but not by alot....check you temps before and after....and also i may not guarantee 3200...but my friend did 3200 on his an7....

also, at what resolution are you playing?

I would *like* to play on 1280 x 1024... not sure if that's doable, but that's what I have my system on.
I've gotten 3200 before but I didn't want to overheat and since I wasn't gaming i went back to stock...

Is there a better way to check the temperature besides going through the bios? or shold I just put a shutdown temp?

yeah get the s2kctl program, it would lower the temps a bit on Athlon xp platforms..and theres a temp monitor inside too

oh, a couple of things, I don't see the 7600 in that list of supported cards, does that matteR?
and The 6600 is listed under PCI-e which I don't have

I got the system overclocked to 2.14 right now witha 193 FSB by 11 multiplier and its running pretty cool at 39C

Now I just need to get more ram and that card... man pc3500 sucks, Its way more expensive than 3200 :-/ it seemed like a good buy at the time
