Battlefield 2 Team Kills

I just got done with a nice BF game session but one thing that really annoys me is how almost no one will forgive TK's in any circumstance. In fact, the most rediculous one was when I was flying an F-18 and I dropped my bombs on and destroyed 2 vehicles in enemy territory. There happened to be a teammate in that mess who was about to die anyways, but he instantly had me punished!

That wasn't the first or only incident similar to that either. I forgive so long as it was an honest accident, and not out of stupidity, but why does no one else?? Are they pissed that they're dead and just want to take it out on me? Jeez...we need more sportsmanlike kiddies in games.

Sorry, a sort of rant...but I'll add a poll...

You shoot me, I punish. Its just that easy. It happenes. It happenes to me also. You be as carefull as you can but you dont have a lot of time to decide. Unless I think to myself "well that was stupid" I punish. You will learn to take care of your teammates. It gets fun on a crowded server because so often teamates will have red tags, the auto ballance switches teams on you and you tk your butt off untill it dawns on you what has happened. Seems like its gonna be part of the game. Itsnt it fun? and cheep too only 50 dollars.

One of the only times I've been forgiven is when I saw an enemy guy dive behind some sandbags around the flag. I had a shotgun so I started running over there. I get there and someone else had taken him out and he was laying in there. No matter, I ran up to him and blew his face off because I didn't know he was a teammate :D. I wish the friendly tags would all show up all the time whenever you're a certain distance away from guys.

I always forgive unless it was blatently obvious they were TRYING to TK me. Even though, only if they do it twice.

The stupidest team kill ever?

I was flying a fully loaded (5 passengers) chinese transport chopper on Dalian Plant. One the USMC jets kamikazed into it. I got 5 TKs and 2 punishes.

Started the round off with over -30 points. That was complete and total BS.

I can't believe they punished you. Some of these players are little @^#%heads.

I forgive, especially if the person explains why. What pisses me off is when I'm shooting someone and some idiot from my team jumps right in front of me, gets hit by my bullets, then punishes me.

To the above poster, try it with a shotgun. They will line up in order to run in front of a 12 shot 12 gauge shotgun.

Many people in BF2 i have noticed go out of the way to TK them. I have seen them jump on my vehical and spam "GET OUT OF THE VEHICAL NOW" over and over, i wait for them to get off and tell them to get off, a few minutes pass and i drive off, he gets ran over, i get punished.

I have also seen teamies dive infront of my vehical just so they could TK punsih me. I have seen my teamies run up to my tank, plant C4 on me, and start to back off, i run over them out of instinct of someone planting C4 on me and they TK punish me.

I have seen a guy stop in his treads (in a tank) turn around, just to run over his teammates mine when he spotted it, so he could TK punish him. There is no reason to use mines on public servers, the people are just too bad..........

i dont understand..............

Yeah, I was layimg mines on an end of a bridge because there was an attack coming. Then some lumbering tank comes up and completely ignores the clearly marked mine warnings he gets and just runs them over and punishes me. I just snipe a lot because you can't really mess up there.

What really pisses me off is when I am commander, I set an artillery strike and my team just runs right into it. Do they not look at their minimaps? Do they not hear when I spam "Artillery, your area!" or read when I type "move, artillery firing"? We need an ATOT server...

EDIT: And then after said artillery strike, they punish and mutiny, there never has been a successful one though, my team generally wins when I command. :p Only lost 3 times.

We do need an AT BF2 server. Seems like enough of us play :p

I'm tired of the "public" associated with public servers.

Here are my rules:
1) If a teammate shoots me, I'll punish unless it is in the middle of a close-quarters firefight.
2) If the commander drops an artillery strike on me when there is nobody else around and I'm about to cap a flag. I'll punish (hell I wish there was a kick in the nads option for that).
3) If I'm bombed when I'm around enemies, I won't punish.
4) If I'm run over while running behind a vehicle, I won't punish.
5) If I'm run over while running beside a vehicle, I won't punish.
6) If I'm run over when in front of a vehicle and I think the driver could have avoided me, I'll punish.
7) If I run over a mine, I will not punish.
8) If I get killed from the secondary explosion of a vehicle, I won't punish. (EA/DICE really needs to fix this. There is no way you should be credited with a team kill from the secondary explosions of vehicles.)

i hate when people kill me for that stupid bug where it displays you as red/enemy... they start shooting me, and all i do is stand there... and i even type "STOP SHOOTING IM YOUR TEAM MATE!"... after he kills me, i then punish me.. he then replies, "WTF MAN!? Dont blame me it was the stupid bug"... now if you knew it was the bug, why bother shooting at me?? dumb@sses like those just raise my blood pressure :|

Punish?

I want to punish my teammates who drive their jeep at me, then jump out at the last second causing me to "kill myself."

Getting shot at is an automatic punish. Getting bombed by a jet or something while I'm in enemy territory is bad communication, but not a punish. Commander artillery usually isn't a problem cuz I run my happy ass away from the red flashing circle before it's too late ;). Getting run over on the road when I'm in front is an automatic punish... it's the most annoying thing and they can avoid me easily.

i forgive if it's truly an accident. i dont forgive a guy who shoots you a round of clips when i don't shoot them back just because they freak out and can't tell blue from red

btw, i hate it when there's a delay in the red tags for the enemy, and you just aim at them to wait for it to show up just to make sure you don't shoot your team mate and by that time you're dead (but by now if it doesnt show up within 1 sec, i assume it's an enemy) . on another note, i hate it when you there's about 15 blue tags taking up the whole screen and you don't know where to aim. i dunno but it truly wouldn't hurt if they had made the outfits a little bit more distinct.

I forgave a guy who fired a TOW maybe 15 feet away directly into my hovering hellicopter. Only because I really think he didn't have any clue what he was doing. No forgiveness for the assholes though.

Personally, I usually do forgive, and yes, I do get pissed when I'm punished for an accidental TK. But here's the thing, the punishing system has completely changed the way 90% of the people play. TK'ing is not a common thing, and people go out of their way not to TK you most of the time. The punishment system helps so much, IMHO, that no matter how much it pisses me off, I'm still glad it's there.

The punishment system is the best invention ever!!!!

I always assess whether it was an accident and am happy to forgive - but if it was really stupid like for instance commanders who artillery a base swarming with teammates then the punish is applied :)

Every game should have punish - it really has removed a lot of jackasses

I almost always forgive unless someone is being really stupid. Like this one guy who decides to drive the APC (on Karkand) up and through the hills by the front right spawn for Americans. He ran me and a few others over. It was the beginning of the round so we were all storming the first base...

Take a look at this thread....

I forgive for accidents. If I'm in a bad mood, I'll wait for an apology :D .

If it's intentional, I penalize and then hunt the bastard down like a dog. I could give a sh1t about points.

Well placed vehicle mines are very strategic. And I leave them with PLENTY of room for a teamate to get around them, especially since they can see the nice red square warning them where it is. But almost every time, some dipstick on my team feels the need to drive with their eyes shut and go right over it. not even slowing down. and what happens.. they punish. I rarely use them any more.. it hurts my score too much. I think once a mine has been placed for more than 10 seconds.. you (the engineer) should no longer be liable for it.

I have done my fair share of being too trigger happy and wiping out a teamate or 2, and deserved to be punished for the TK.. but there are too many sensless punishes.

I find it extremely amusing to punish people..... They deserve it as they actually seem to care about a lameass number on a screen... Some people will even sit and type bs to me simply because i punished them, so i make them tk me, then laugh at them and eventually they get banned. Sorted.
