Battlefield 2 Resolution

I'm probably just being really stupid, but...

It seems that I can't set Battlefield 2 resolution to my LCD's native res (12x10). I see all the options for all the resolutions up to this one, but then the list just cuts off. Why would this be? Half-life 2 allows me to hit the native res, and I'm sure that BF2 supports it, but I definately can't set it from inside the game.

That resolution may have only just been added with v1.3 patch. The game really only supports standard monitor aspect ratios. Something about wanting to keep the game to only one view angle or perspective. I think it will stretch 1280x960 to 1280x1024 to fit your LCDs apect ratio under the new patch. You might be better off running 1280x960 in a letter-box like mode.

add +szx 1280 +szy 1024
to your BF2 shortcut's command line

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024
does it for me and my LCD. 🙂

The command line hack doesn't always work. Does for some, not for others. I can't get it to do anything but drop me to the desktop. Others get 1920 x 1200, but they lose portions of the top and bottom of the view.

I just run it at 1600 x 1200 in the middle of the panel.

I've had the patch since it came out, and as far as I know it hasn't changed the game's behavior with respect to supported video resolutions.

It hasn't for me, it's one of the first things I tried.
Such an annoying game in terms of bugs/flaws.. I can't believe it doesn't support WS, or even the ability to pick normal resolutions for most people. I had to create a custom resolution in Windows just so I could play at a reasonable res...It's not even the native res for my 2005, but I can't get that to work, so.. The command line hack does the same for me, drops back to the desktop... POS!

^^Amen to what he said

My complaint as far as BF2 is concerned is it doesn't allow adjusting gamma or brightness -- or is it just me missing it?

I've got an Apple 30" LCD with a resolution of 2560x1600, and BF:2 only lets me choose up to 1024x768...even with the hack. It's quite annoying.
