Yup... jets, helos, all sorts of land vehicles... boats... there's so much to do that it takes a long time to get boring.

I don't play computer games anymore. The last two games I was really into were Tribes and StarCraft. I was very good at Tribes.

So ~8 years? Yeah, you're outta the loop. The battlefield series was really fun. In a sense, it was a sleeper hit -- even though it had good advertising, I don't think anyone expected too much; there wasn't much 'buzz' surrounding it. Then the demo came out and...OMG.

Needless to say, I think BF2 is the second most popular FPS only to CS:S.

I'm not too excited about 2142...the whole 'apocalpytic future shooter' was already done by Tribes, IMO. The new gameplay modes may redeem it, but I'm skeptical.

As an aside: who loved BF:V? Nothing's more fun than racking up the kills with napalm overflights of enemy airfields in the F4. Plane campers beware! :evil:

CS is a 12 year old's playground. It was a good FPS before 1.0, but the rest of the world moved on and it attracted an extremely immature audience.

And why is BF 'wannabe'? It's certainly a solid FPS by any normal definition I know of.

BF2 is a great game, because there are many roles you can take, and many different ways to play the game as oppose to the simpleness of CS....

Maybe he has a crappy video card and no RAM and means, "FRAMES PER SECOND"... 😛

I do have to say that for a FPS, there are many ways to die...and kill. This makes it difficult to play in the traditional sense because too many things are out of your control. Artillary can kill you, for example, whereas before you weren't dead unless you were in the same room or area as your attacker.

It seems that BF2 requires a lot of teamwork and strategy. A lot like Tribes did. I find that FPS games with extremely large maps and flag objectives tend to be that way.

CS was just a mindless FPS, but it still did require a lot of point and click skills. I never got into it though.

Or, picking up a tank with a helo and hovering over an enemy spawn point...a few guys spawn right under the tank, bombs away!
