Been posting alot everywhere and noone ever answers my question..

Athlon 2600*stock
2x512 Patriot pc-3200
eVGA 6800NU 12/6*stock

Wat settings should i be running BF2 w/o lag....I want it to havea little beauty though

Just set the overall quality to "High" - textures and light at medium, everything else high - and you could run it at 1024*768 or 1280*1024 with 2x or 4x AA pretty smoothly. I do.

Sorry to be a b*stard but why don't you just do what everyone else has to do and mess around with it till you find settings that you like....

Every computer is different.....2 computers with identical specs will usually run within a certain percentage of each other but the game experience will never be identical so it is hard to say what will and will not work in your case...

Try 1024x768 at all low settings....if that works then put a few things to medium and so on....until it starts to stutter then drop back the last setting you changed.....

bf2 is cpu heavy l have a 2600+ a 3200+ and an fx55 bf2 runs good on all l need to put the x800 pro in the 2600+ as it has no vid card , the 2600+ amd isnt 64 bit not that it matters when bf2 is 32 bit code, make sure any viris scanning crap is off, msn and the like off, give your cpu as much power as possible, lve found my system chewing 1.2 gigs of ram running bf2 and fraps and media player [fx55 ] , maybe try upping your page file to 512 or more, the chop can be alot of things , ram getting re addressed , not enough ram can cause this , your pc dont spec wise look bad, check your backround applications, and before you enter the game set your desktop 3D settings to performance or lowest , then, set everything in the game to min, then aplly settings 1 at a time and the first should be view distance, leave textures low till last, texture can use heaps of memory, try that its a pain 1 setting at a time but whada ya do .

The only other thing is check your pc spec , and if you can set your video memory aperature in the BIOS, you may find it at 64 megs well if you can try it at 128 or 256 ...

That is the longest sentence I have ever seen in my life :Q

Make sure you're running at the native resolution and same refresh rate as your monitor.

Well it really doesnt matter to me now...my last video card was a mx440 so i never had the beauty..so runnin at medium/low settings doesnt really bother me

Unless your native resolution is 1680x1050 and the game doesn't offer it.

I'm running a pretty similar system to yours.

p4 2.6c
256x4 matched pairs
6800LE oc'd unlocked

I run the game on the high settings and it's quite pretty, and runs fairly smoothly. Sometimes there's a flutter of a pause when I fire a anti-tank rocket while zoomed in, but that's rare.

My page file hits about 1GB or so while in game.
