Woo woo full retail with a $5 headset that you wouldn't want to play with anyway? Plus, as said, public VOIP is the sux and will undoutably require disabling immediately. Unfortunately, BF2 will prolly be sufficiently pop at first regardless of quality that the price shan't be very good. I bought BF1942 for $19.42 from gogamer shortly after release. I suspect a better deal than topic (which I don't consider a deal at all) will be had, but unlikely as good as aforementioned. Also, it is a common misconception that the folks that made the DesertCombat mod had anything but a minor role in BF2 which was already under development. All they did was test potential BF2 features on the BF1942 engine, thus saving DICE SE some time on stuff that required less expertise. DICE NY as Trauma became after being aquired is instead working on a seperate game based upon the BF2 engine. Anyhoo, I am looking forward to BF2 but also know that it will be as equally, if not more so, dumbed down as BF1942 and will really require a mod the likes of Forgotten Hope to make it shine. DICE SE has actually commented that they want to cater to the mass-market dumbness of wing-walking and have demonstrated videos showing off rockets passing through helocopters (in one door and out the other) without doing damage as if the novelty were a good thing. Hopefully they will not cater to the most spastic fantasy elements like parachuting off buildings, tanks sniping helos a la DC, but alas I suspect they will.
