I get avg of 45 fps in battlefield 2 at 1280x1024 all high settings with 4xAA and 4xAF on a 64 player map . It dips down to 30 when there is alot of things going on. Is this normal? The only time i get 99 fps is when there is not much ppl on screen. Thought that I could get at least 60+ all times. 60+ is alot more fluid than 45fps. Pc gets 7860 in 3dmark05.

I also heard that sli does not help too much in bf2 especially in the expansion.

that all seems really low to me

I have an OCd 7800GT that averages almost the frame rate cap (100fps) at 1280x1024, all settings on High. that is on 64-player maps.

my rig gets ~9200 in 3DMark05, and ~ 7600 at stock speeds of 470/1100

but still...3DMark05 is not particularly CPU-bound, so OCing your rig won't have a massive effect on scores like 3DMark06. I'm not positive on what your score should be, but more like ~8500 seems bout right.

7600 score was at 1.8ghz CPU and stock GPU clocks of 470/1100. your card has an extra 4 pipes and an extra vertex shader, so it should score quite a bit higher at similar clock speeds. depending on which evga card you bought, your clocks may be close to my gaming speeds anyway of 526/1351mhz

mine is 470/1200. 7680 in 3dmark05 is about right for my card at stock. It got 8130 when i oced it to 500/1300 but i noticed zero performance gain in bf2. so i clocked back down

just occurred to me to your dual-core might be the problem. IIRC, BF2 has problems running on both cores. seems like you have to adjust affinitey for each core to get smooth performance with an X2, maybe somebody can shed light on this.

I would agree...I had major problems w/ my framerate when I upgraded to the X2 CPU...Try the following:

Start up BF2
Open Task Manager
Under Processes - Right click BF2
Go to Affinity & uncheck CPU1
Click Ok & return to your game

Your FPS should be between 80 - 100 like mine is...

lol i said i dont have an x2. My graphics card just is not powerful enough. I don't like ocing so i will wait till 7900 gtx is out and get rid of my current gpu.
