battlefield 2 fps

hey I just got a x850xtpe and I have a 3200+ with 2 gigs of ocz ram and while running battlefield 2 on 10X7 med textures, dynamic shadows off, dynamic light low and 2X AA, I average about 55 fps and it dips to 35 ish and goes to 90ish, is this normal or do I have settings I need to switch around, it seems to me it should be higher when reading others rigs running bf2, especially with me turning dynamic stuff down and textures down, let me know thanks

BF2 is a weird game. I would reinstall it if I were you and see if the problem persists. I had to reinstall it when I changed my monitor.

Do you have VSync on? Do you have triple buffering on?
