Battlefield 2 DVD version with headset $44.99

The ship dates are different:

Gogamer: 06/01/05

Amazon: March 21, 2005

Not sure I would want to wait the extra months. Just a thought.

DVD seems good at first but could be a negative if you like to use relatively small disc images on the HDD for quick authentication without the need for disc swapping for each game. Often, the data on one of the discs is quite small -400MB or so. Of course there are always no-cd cracks but it can be a ah heck waiting on new releases after the inevitable patches.

Augh, and to think yesterday I told a friend it was coming out March 25th...Oh well, it doesn't surprise me either.

Did you ever stop to think that Amazon's release date is wrong?

Slightly off topic, but what's the difference between the import version of a game compared to the regular retail version (other than price)?

How much is the dvd edition with free headset supposed to be retail? If its 49.99 retail i'd rather just pick it up at my local shop the day it comes out and pay $49.99+tax rather than $44.90+$5.99 shipping and waiting for the game to get here.

The headset is junk anyway. Who would want to degrade the experience with such crap speakers? Personally, I intend to wait for a more significant sale. BF1942 sold for $19.42 at gogamer shortly after release. Local mongers discounted BFV (although not as much) for the week of release. Granted, the swinish masses are aware of the game this time around so lower pricing and sales may not be "necessary" or "desirable" from the publisher's and retailer's perspectives but the topic price is certainly not an incentive to prevent just waiting. The Thai edition or such via eBay is alway an option anyway.
