It should have a CD key required for online play.

I get a lot of stuff from the alt.binaries stores 😉 but IMO, this game really deserves our support. 🙂

I agree.... I have a $15.00 gamers giftcard and a $5.00 coupon just waiting to support it...... 😀

The alt.binaries.cd.image.games store already has it.

(No, I'm not condoning piracy, I'm just making a note.)

:Q :Q :Q :Q :Q :Q The very idea that anyone do such a thing... :Q HORRIBLE! :Q :Q :Q :Q :Q :Q :Q :Q :Q
(does it require a new key to play online?? Or do you just use the BF1942 Key??)

YES, it has a unique cd key. YES, you have to BUY the expansion. It's worth the $20............

from the nfo:

If you want multiplay buy the game!

Installation Information :
==========================

Just extract the archives and burn the .cue file with your favorite CD-Recording
software. Then copy mod.dll to your installdir/mods/xpack1 and installdir/mods/bf1942
directory's and the exe to the root of your original BF1942 install.

Can you guys explain some more about gifta card and coupon deal on this? Where can I find that coupon? I know they used to print them in some magazines before. Can you point me where can I find one now?

NM... saw the post above 🙂 sorry

I highly doubt that BB has it today. Heck even EB doesn't have it in stores today.

I will however not pay 29.99 at EB, if that is their price. I can wait 2-3 days for 10$ savings on an expansion pack.

Basically they have these gift cards that are in green jewel cases. Inside the jewel case theres a coupon for $5.00 off a game (either $19.99 or $20.00 purchase)
so you just buy the gift card with the amount of ~$15.00 and use the $5.00 coupon and buy the game

You can put any amount to the gift card. I bought two $5 cards each just to use the coupon. You can try to do it at low as $1. That way you end up getting more $5 coupons.

I believe you need the original cd to play an original level and the new cd to play a new level...

does anybody know if you can use the cd from the expansion to play the original as well?

Meaning, maybe you could have a "shared" cd-key for the original and then everyone buys thier own copy of RtR. I don't know if it's possible, but after installing RtR, the copy protection asks that you insert either original disc or the RtR disc.

The original game needs the original disc and the expansion asks for the expansion disc, unless you're running one of these cd-killing mods. The latest one seems to crash to desktop when playing, but then again maybe it's just 1.3 that's whacked.

Hello, my name is no cd key. I refuse to follow on screen directions.

So this is in stores thursday, or whats the deal? I never even made it in BB's general direction today.

yea it is killing my v1.3 updated version i kept getting data not matchin server errors. I'll try again in the morning. Let them work out the bugs.......

Even worse I was getting "cd key in use." Either someone keygen'ed my key and is using it routinely or something is fuxored with the servers.

Blah.

Post your key here and someone will check and see if it's working now.

Is this in Best Buy stores now?

Went to BB last night and was told the release date to them is 2/6, but they may get them as early as today.

Anyone got a copy from BB today?

lala land. there are different versions of the 1.3 patch floating around out there. make sure you download the one at nvidia. that one definitely works. i had to redownload the correct version, uninstall, reinstall and patch with 1.3. then i could get to the servers.

Where do you get this $5 off coupon your all talking about? I got the $15 gamer's gift certificate already

What is the $15 gamer's gift certificate you are talking about? The $5 off coupon we are talking about comes with the BestBuy gift card sold in BestBuy B&M store.

If anyone can wait until Sunday, at the latest, BestBuy will be having the expansion pack on sale for $14.99 + tax out the door. You do not have to worry about any special coupons/gamer gift cards. Credit for the early ad goes to Badlieut from DVDTalk. Of course you can buy it now, then get the adjustment from BestBuy next week.
