Battlefield 1942 or NOLF 2?

I have an EB Gift card that expires today and I am down to choosing between this two games, which one do you think I should get?

From a "how much will I ultimately get out of this game?" question, I'd say 1942. NOLF is just a shooter....may have a good storyline, etc but when you're done, you're done. Little replay value. Whereas BF1942 is different every time you play with a zillion different vehicle, maps and roles to play. It's got some bug issues right now, but the devlopers seem earnest in their efforts to create patches to address player concerns.

Good point. You pretty much have to have cable or DSL if you get BF1942.

And NOFL2 is not easy either. The levels take forever to load, and the thing practically freezes for a couple of seconds when you start playing, especially the first time you shoot someone. Very annoying (and Cate gets hurt!). Plays reasonably well after that (P4-2.4/Ti4200). I agree it has little replay value. The graphics are great, Cate looks better than ever, and the "intelligence items" are more useful, as you can build your character's habilities. The music is ok, but not as great as NOFL, which was one of the best ever. It's not as charming as the first one, but I'm only in Chap. 4, maybe it will get more attractive while the game progresses.

I tried the Bf 1942 demo and didn't like much, but I'll give it another try, because everybody else is loving it.

Hmmm... I haven't had as bad an experience with NOLF2 as you have, it appears. With my 1.2 Ghz Athlon and Ti4600, I've had no freezing problems and the levels load up in a reasonable time. I love NOLF2, but I haven't played NOLF1, so I can't compare the two. The character animation is the best I've ever seen in ANY game for the PC, and there's plenty of neat graphic effects (the bump-mapped molten lava is just COOL...) to look at. I recommend it.

I haven't tried BF1942.

NOLF2 is a good game as well. but BF is so much better.

no problems running nolf here. and yea the animations are good. they actually look pretty decent while talking hah.

BF is good online, I hope 1.2 straightens out the bugs, as i'm tired of heaving marshmellows at players under 20yrds. REally annoying online. Cable is a must, and you need 512mb of Ram
