Battlefield 1942 "Must have it now" thread

This sucks I'm protesting by not buying the game, I've had enough of companies setting release dates and not living up to them.

For those of you with GeForce cards on XP, what driver version are you using?

I recently installed it on my P4 2.0a 256mb GeForce2 Pro 64mb system and although it loads fine, I experience weird delays when I move around. It's not a lag type of a delay, just like the motion slows down for a moment...

I can't seem to find a driver version that works well. I haven't tried turning down my texture detail yet, so I'll try that when I get home.

Btw, sorry to hijack the thread w/ questions I'm anxiously awaiting this game as well....

i'm more annoyed by EB than anyone. all morning it's been "we'll have it today we'll have it today" then all of a sudden it's EA's fault?!? ebworld is shipping, so how does that make it EA's fault? and if they knew EA wasn't shipping why would they tell everyone it was coming out today.

i think i need a nap.

I call last night "it'll be in at 10 in the morning"
call at 10:30 AM "it should be here before noon"
call at 1:00 PM "fedex came and didnt' have it, it'll be with the UPS guy who comes around 1:30"
call at 3:30 PM "Ups guy still hasn't come, have you preordered because we can call you when its in"

and I don't blame EA at all. They say that it'll be out on the 14th (and thats just to save their asses so people like me don't get pissed at them for not releasing when they said they would)

I need more maps too...I figured out the best way to owning the japanese in the first 10 minutes on wake island. Rush the boats with planes and have guys sitting on the peninsulas ready to pick off guys as they get off the transports.

Its also relatively easy to hijack transports. Just blow them off the beach with nades, swim to 'em and drive to the battleship.
Then you can piss off a lot of people by sitting on the ship and killing them as they spawn. It works until they realize it and spawn to the other ship and cap you from a safe distance

I've probably spent close to 30 hours playing on that one map alone.

they told a date which was the 14th to play it safe. Now they've actually said you should have it by Friday officialy.


I expect to have mine tomorrow though since stupid EB said they would have it in today.
