what res are you guys running at? seems to be playable on my 650 P3 with my 32m DDR Radeon.....not great, but not bad either. Although it is time for an upgrade.
 
tagej - You select the binoc's, right click to view, and left click to call in for artilery. If the artilery is not in a position to be effective, it won't do anything. Good examples of effective ones are someone spotting the north or south base, with someone manning the defgun overlooking the bay at the airfield.
The person in the artilery then sees a flashing icon above the damage status for the gun (lower left corner, near your health). They will also see a flashing yellow cone in the radar with the point being where the person called for the strikes. At this point they right click to scope in. Aiming can be a bit tricky but you get a better viewpoint for seeing where the rounds go.
And yes, this can be extremely effective.

Just a quick suggestion.. try to get a 128 meg card. With the newer games coming out end of this year and next that extra ram will help out big time...

As for the ATI vs Nvidia debate... just cause someone has large market share.. doesn't mean they will hold it in 6months. Doesn't anyone remember 3dfx? Im not saying they are going down(ATI or Nvidia).. but they are far from invulnerable.

I already ordered the GF4 Ti4200/64, the Gainward model with the slightly faster RAM.

Reason I got that instead of the 128meg versions is the price difference (4200/128 are $30 more, 4400's are $60 more, the price of the game). Also, I plan on doing a full system overhaul next Summer, when things like SATA mature a bit. Part of that overhaul will be getting a higher end video card, like the R300/NV30 if they are in the $200 range. I just can't deal with spending over $350 on a video card again.

Why do I get the feeling that against all my good sense in money management, I am going to crack by 2pm and go pick it up?
 
well it's 12:25 and the eb at the local mall just said they were supposed to get a shipment at noon, which has obviously passed. will check again at 1pm, maybe it will be in. if so i'll head over that way.

I'm going to finish up a few house chores then maybe call at 1:15 then deposit money at the bank and HOPEFULLY it'll be in by then
 
My store recieved it.

🙂 Depending on the UPS/Fedex drivers in your area, you shops may not recieve it until ~4pm. Sometimes drivers just suck like that 🙁
 
Bleh my EB said it was delayed until tomorrow... as he walked to the back of the store to get another game he kinda mumbled something along the lines of "because of the time of the year" or something. 😕
 
my ebworld just told me that it would be Three more days, damn them....🙁

Then again it sounded like the kid just wanted to get me off the phone :frown:
 
yeah mine just said the 14th, EA's fault, not theirs. i told them by then i can get it anywhere and not have to deal with mall traffic. oh well.
