and maybe the ole 1.33 processor and 8k7a+ if the prices are right, I might even do it as soon as thanksgiving if the deals are right.
I was going to switch over to an Nvidia card but, I think I may stick with ATI because Nvidia may not be around that much longer but, it always depends on what deals are out their
Please tell me you're joking about NVIDIA. That is the most crazy thing I've read all day

NVIDIA ain't going nowhere b/c of NV30 or the Radeon 9700 Pro. In fact, they've just been named the fastest growing company in the US by Fortune Magazine:

If anything, ATI would go before NVIDIA would.
Nah unfortunately not, nice article and all but, their stock price is struggling etc.. check out thes two pages for more info.

Yeah they have a nice product and they sell it well but, that does not automatically entail corporate stability
I'm sorry, but NVIDIA is in a much better position finacially and market position wise (around 45% marketshare). They have a higher marketcap, more support from OEM vendors, and unmatched support from developers. Their driver model is also excellent.
If you want to talk simply stock prices, Intel is at 16.47, ATI is at 6.06, NVIDIA is at 10.57. AMD is below 10.
And in case you didn't know, ATI just announced missed earnings. But remember, everyone in a down slump b/c of the economy...EVEN Intel.
ATI: Sales, earnings to fall short
NVIDIA has had 15 consecutive quarters of increasing revenues and increased by 64% last quarter year over year.
And if you want to compare financial performance:
NVIDIA
NVIDIA Corporation designs, develops and markets 3D graphics processors, graphics processing units and related software for every type of desktop personal computer, ranging from professional workstations to low-cost PCs. For the 26 weeks ended 7/28/02, revenue totaled $1.01B, up from $500.1M. Net income rose 49% to $88.5M. Results reflect increased unit sales due to the release of new products, partially offset by lower gross margins.
ATI
ATYT designs, manufactures and sells 3-D graphics and multimedia solutions for personal computers and consumer electronic devices. For the 9 months ended 5/31/02, sales fell 3% to $782.2M. Net loss according to U.S. GAAP rose from $8M to $19.1M. Revenues reflect lower board product sales. Higher loss also reflects an increase in research, development and selling expenses and the absence of $54.9M in gains on the sale of long-term investments.
The fact of the matter is, NVIDIA isn't going anywhere.
