Battlefield 1942 mp demo doesn't load in both of my systems

I have two systems - p4 1.6 @ 1.9ghz, gf3 64mb det 23.12, 256mb ddr, win xp pro
- athlon 1.2 @ 1.4ghz, gf2 gts 32mb det 23.12, 256 ddr, win xp pro

After installing the mp demo and loading the game, it goes into a black screen, then exits back to windows and makes a error sound. I downloaded the file twice, once from gamespot and once from fileplanet and installed it several times, natta. What is wrong?

Try clocking one normally and then retrying the game?

Are u sure about that?

 

That was my experience. I am talking in-game refresh rate, not desktop. I was using a util that set my 1024x760x32 refresh rate to 85Hz and the game bombed until I set it back to 60Hz.

I have almost the same rig.
except I am running a p4 1.8 @ 2.4.
The demo runs fine for me except that if I play for a long time it crashes my system when I exit the game.
I have to boot up in safe mode and uninstall my video drivers.
It is a real pain, but I beleave that it is a bug in the game and there is nothing wronge with your set up.
I hope this issue is addressed in the final product because it is a fun game.
It looks like it is just bad code, just like GTA 3.

Taking into account all the other bugs present in the game, I'd chock this one up to bad code and back luck. I doubt its anything wrong with your system.
