Nothing wrong with Chevy. The Cobalt is a small, reliable car that's easy on the pocketbook.

GM does not make reliable cars.

I don't see why you'd say that. I've got a buddy who's got a 2001 Kia Rio with a bit over 200,000 miles on it and it still runs and drives great. Meanwhile I mistakenly bought an American car (Daewoo, which is 100% GM, stamped *all over* the damn car) and blew a head gasket at around 90,000 miles.

Kia's may be cheap and no frills, but I've not seen any reason to believe they aren't reliable.

That's my point. Why don't you read the OP, then read my reply.

Honda Civic.

Mazda 3 doesn't have a long enough track record.

I agree. A civic will be running at 200k miles, or will have a good resale at lower miles, but who knows about the mazda.

why is everbody all over Hyundai's all of a sudden?
Correct me if i'm wrong but they did build absolute crap for the past several years (even worse than GM).
Yet just because they come out with some new designs everyone here is sucking their d!ck.

I don't get it.

What? its an honest question

i'm sure the year 2002 to current is being excluded from "the past several years" , and the only popular cars from GM are the corvette and the camaro, with junk like crapalier and malibu filling the sedan market. the impala on the other hand is a pretty ok car.

hyundai's has been cheap and reliable and the styling ain't half bad since 2001. I'm sure the cheap part will change from now on.

Sorry dude, still smell's like bias to me.

Go check edmunds for GM models as well, they are also ranked high by consumers and outsell Hyundai

example

other than the 5 vans, 12 truck/SUV, people only like the camaro and the vette (they had terrible edmunds editor review), the malibu and cavalier were crap, the impala was ok, the monte carlo IS an impala, and the prizm is a corolla put together by GM.

good cars? i think not. and i was just pointing out how hyundai hasn't been "absolute crap for the past couple of years"- they've been decent since 2001.

Who are you to say what cars people like or don't like?

If you think those are the only two GM cars people like then you need to get out more buddy.

sounds like you're the one stroking GM on this one. im referring to people's positive review on those 2, while the editors hated them.

point being, you're wrong on people sucking hyundai's dick for some pretty design, and that hyundai making crap for the past couple of years. 10 years ago, yes. not anymore.

dude, all you do is keep assuming stuff, just so you know i voted for the mazda 3 because it is clearly the superior package. All i'm doing is supporting American car manufacuters since they get such a terrible wrap on this forum. As a Chevy truck owner i am extremely happy with it and haven't had one problem.

the new 2006 civic has a track record of 0. heh... but i know what you're getting at. mazda isn't bad, it's just the automatic transmission they throw in there that's suckage 🙁 and generally a bit more expensive to fix, so I've heard. I plan on doing as much work as I possibly can on my own car 🙂

I voted Mazda too
Yes a Civic is a good boring car, the Mazda looks better and is more feature rich

I owned a 95 Civic BTW and sold it and kept my Chev Corsica I've put in $100 that wasn't regular wear and tear, one alternator and heater core and over 200K miles .
You Mary's worry too much. . .
ANY car is a depreciating asset unless you have a Shelby Cobra or something unique.
ALL cars are much better made even 5 yrs ago
