Battle of the CRT's

NEC FE950+ (Diamondtron)
My friend needs a monitor.
I'm leaning towards the Dell because of the superiour scanning rate capable of 1600x1200@85Hz vs 76Hz and higher max resolution.

Go with the Dell, I have a Dell P1110 and this thing will not die. Not that I can compare it to a P992 but Sony makes pretty good CRTs from my experience.

I have an old NEC FP950(refurbished), which is around 5 or 6 years old that is still running strong to this day, but I'd go with the dell, I've used them at work and they're good monitors.

How low are LCD prices, though?
If not lower than CRTs, this does not matter.
