Battle of the bands part 1 - Weezer vs. The Smashing Pumpkins.

Vote! Also, you can suggest bands to compete against the winner in part 2. I want to keep it in the genre of Rock/Pop i.e. What is played on KROQ, because a lot of people know it, and it doesn't totally suck.

Anyway, I'll start part 2 after 50 votes or 24 hours, whichever comes first.

twas a hard decision........Weezer's music is generally more "pleasant", but that's not really in comparison here, since SP's musicality and creativeness is just too strong to be beat, especially by Weezer. I must say that seeing Weezer live was quite the experience tho.

smashing pumpkins. weezer hasn't done much i like since their debut, and even when i listen to that now i know wtf i was thinking when i thought that album was great.

Weezer is simple, and fun to listen to. If I wanted to slit my wrist, Id put on S&P.

MY only Weezer experience has been the Buddy Holly (happydays video) and hashpipe. Both good tunes. Smashing Pumpkins have quite a few more 'popular' songs I know about (I counted 7), so, I voted for them.

I sorta like them both. I'd have to go with the Pumpkins though--I've liked them much longer. Weezer is a little too "geeky" for me. I like them, but the Pumpkins appeal to my tastes more.

Which reminds me, it's been like 5 years since I've seen the Pumpkins live. Man, was that show awesome.

Billy showed a lot of anger at times in his music
Weezer is a bit more mellow
Both good bands doing there own thing
Unlike most music played today
