I remember playing Battle Chess in 5th grade. Was there ever a newer version made? That would be awesome with today's graphics.
 
That game was great - I seem to remember a battle chess 3000 but that was the last one I can remember.

yeah, i just downloaded 4000 which is newer, but it was still for DOS 🙁

I just saw that there's a chessmaster 10th edition that looks like it has a battlechess type of mode where the pieces fight each other. checking out the demo now.
 
Kinda reminds me of Risk2. A simple game I used to play on Windows98. Took an hour or two to play but entertaining nevertheless. It'd be nice if it had a new remake for XP/Vista. Sometimes the simplest of games are the most endearing. Monopoly hasnt been around so long because it was a bad game. Simple, fun, and entertaining.
 
wow... reminds me of when I worked on a quake mod called "minion" as a level designer - chess mod for quake.
