Battery recommendation for wireless mouse/keyboard

My wireless mouse/keyboard runs through batteries like I run through Heineken, I need a cheaper soultion than just buyng huge packs of regular batteries.

Which option should I go with? I know energizer has the e2 titanium & lithium "high performance" batteries, but do they really last THAT MUCH longer than regular energizer batteries, or should I just buy one of those 15 minute rechargeable thingamajigs and call it a night?

Most rechargeable batteries start at a bit over 1.2V while regular Alkalines start at a bit over 1.5V when new. So if range is important to you, Alkalines are probably better than NiMH. Also, NiMH batts self-discharge just sitting on the shelf - about 1% of capacity per day. Alkalines are best for long-term, low drain devices, while NiMH are better for high drain, short duration devices like digicams.

My wireless kbd (RFI) only uses a pair of Alkalines a year - if you are using a lot, maybe you need a different kbd/mse set. Otherwise use NiMH and just keep an extra pair charged ahead for each and rotate them.

My Logitech wireless mouse is powered with Powatech rechargeable 2300 mah NiMh battreries.
I tried the alkalines but the rechargeables are the only way now.
The wireless mouse seems to drain my alkalines too quickly. So NiMh is my batteries now.
