my bro uses Lenmar's NoMemPro (I think). You can get a charger plus 4 AA batteries for like 22 bux at Frys (if you have one near you).

Check out the Rayovac Renewals. They're a bit tough to find, but it's what I use in my digicam, they're excellent.

You can get a Rayovac quick charger (1 hour) for $30 with 2 AA batteries at Target or Walmart. When I picked mine up they had a freebie car charger adapter in the package. Extra AA's should cost you about $12 for 4.

If you have a Micro Center near you they seem to have the best deal available but this may have already expired 5/19 or may expire 6/2.

The next best deal are the CostCo NiMH's you mentioned. CostCo B&M is selling all this for only $25 - $5 MIR = $20 final price:
Panasonic 5 hour charger
6 1600 mAH AA batteries
2 AAA batteries
2 C & 2 D size adapters

If you want the ultimate in NiMH rechargeable batteries get 1800 mAH's from Thomas-Distributing.com or SunnBattery.com (do a CTRL F and search for 1800 mAH). The best deal is a combo package like this which includes 8 AA 1800 mAH Gold Peak NiMH rechargeable batteries, the top rated MAHA 204F quick charger and car adapter all for only $39.95 plus shipping/handling.

I bought the Panasonic NiMH's from CostCo and I've been very pleased so far. IMHO the additional $25 isn't worth it for the 1800 mAH's unless you need absolutely the best batteries/charger. The difference is barely noticeable between 1600 and 1800 but the MAHA 204F charger is awesome. Used to have one until I sold it to my sister.

Disclaimer: I don't work for Micro Center, CostCo, Panasonic, Thomas-Distributing or SunnBattery. Some idiot in a previous thread assumed I worked for SunnBattery, just thought I'd clear the air this time.

edit: I just copied that from the Vivitar Hot Deals thread I posted in. I think the Micro Center deal is dead. The best bang for your buck are the Panasonic 1600 mAH's for $20 from CostCo B&M or from SunnBattery or Thomas Distributing. If you want the best get 1800 mAH's

Sunnbattery sells on eGay also so go check them out. They usually got better prices than on their web site.

Great advice, I buy all my NiMH's from SunnBattery.com's eBay auctions (ptron1). I'm thinking about picking up a MAHA charger with a few 1800 mAH's but think I'll wait a little while.

I had the Fuji 2800 just a little while ago... returned it to Fry's after trying it out for the full 30 days (clerk made a mistake as it should've been 15 days, but she bit the bullet for me, and accepted the blame when her manager didn't want to budge... nice lady). Very nice, and good-looking camera, just a little on the pricey side for most of its features (or lack of), IMO. The zoom, ease of use, and good colors present in all my 2000+ 1280 pics w/it is just GOLDEN of course. :)

Anyways, I bit on the "Vivatar 3.3MP, 4X Optical for less than $200 hot deal" two weeks ago at Staples, and am pretty happy so far. The thing went through Alkaline batteries, and my two Panasonic rechargables (from my 4-year old CD player) like a hot knife goes through butter. Wound up going for the $19.95 rechargables deal at Sam's Club. They had tons when I picked mine up last week. 8 Energizer 1700 mAh (not 1600 :p) Ni-MH batteries w/Ni-MH & Ni-Cad recharger that does 4 cells at a time---not too bad of a deal. :)

NeuralChaos,

What's your budget?
Do you have a CostCo or Sam's Club near you?
How many AA's do you need?
