This is driving me nuts. Samsung ATIV SmartPC 500T, Windows 8
A couple weeks ago, I noticed the battery was at 80-something percent. This thing is generally plugged in, because the keyboard it docks to is what I keep plugged in. If I head to the bathroom, or otherwise take it somewhere, I undock it, and it runs off the battery.
Well, when I noticed the problem, it ceased running if not plugged in. I get the message, battery plugged in, but not charging. It gives me the percent of battery remaining, which is very slowly dropping. Seems others have had this same problem on a number of devices.
I have tried the following: uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the battery. (No updates for the drivers.)
Reset the laptop to factory settings, leaving nothing behind.
All sorts of combinations of shutting it down and restarting, in combination with uninstalling the battery drivers. (AC power is now plugged directly into the device, not the keyboard, though that doesn't seem to make a difference.)
I've taken it apart and disconnected and reconnected the battery. With the battery disconnected, during a reboot, oddly, it reinstalls the battery drivers, despite that hardware not present. (I haven't removed the battery, and am assuming there's only one cable.)
I've noticed that when unplugged, sometimes, but not every time, the clock ends up incorrect. I've run the power troubleshooting multiple times (which doesn't even notice the lack of battery if it's disconnected).
Any ideas of other things I can try??
Thanks
