Battery Operated Dust Blower $5.99 @ OM

I recently started a thread where I was asking about alternitave methods for getting rid of dust. aloser suggested this battery powered dust blower. It's at OfficeMax for $5.99 after a $4 instant rebate and it also includes batteries! Search for item # 20208623. If thats not enough you also get free shipping! It may not be a super hot deal, but could work well for fillers to be able to use a coupon. Im not sure how well it works but for $6 I'm willing to find out. Enjoy!

Try this link for OM. Once again, thanks to tsowen.

I don't see how that little thing can blow as forcefully as a normal can of air duster.. But for $6, I'm willing to try it.

It's tough to beat a deal for $6.00 with free shipping, so I ordered one.
Aloser says it works really well, that's good enough for me.
Thanks guys.

Thanks OP.
If the exit hole is small, it might scare off loose dust bunnies. As some of you might have found already, it's the small exit hole of the nozzle extension that makes the canned air have such force. Remove that nozzle extension, and "felt" air movement lowers. I doubt this will match air cans, but making the exit hole as small as practible, will give max. "pressure".

Just ordered this along with the fabric executive chair that was 39.99 after instant and mail-in rebates. I have a fairly big dust problems and cans of compressed air do get expensive, so I was willing to give this gadget a shot. Besides, it's free shipping

please report back on how this thing works, i'm curious.

me, i spent 18 bucks on an extension hose for my compressor out in the shop,
now I have unlimited air supply @ 90-140 PSI.
I can blow dust bunnies into the next room now 🙂

I'll buy one only if I hear good things about it. I doubt the force of the air can be more than half the force of your own breathe. A leaf blower might work a lot better but they cost $100+.

I just got mine. The first thing you have to do is replace the pitiful "heavy duty" batteries that come with it, and drop in new alkalines.
Then it starts to sound like a shop tool, with that high-pitched screaming sound.
It's VERY handy. MUCH easier than dusting with a cloth or a duster or a vacuum.
Of course all the dust ends up on the floor, but that's what vacuum cleaners are for.
I just dusted everything in my room in less than 10 minutes, and it was fun.

The top of my desk is quite large and I have a lot of things laying around on it. So it's almost impossible to dust it, but it's easy to use this blower to get rid of the dust.
It's also useful for things like the tops of clocks with all those buttons, the tops of your speakers, your monitor, etc. The front of your stereo with all of those controls that get dusty, etc.

Definitely recommended.

Mine SUCKS!!!!

It isn't powerfull enough to get any bunnies out of my case. I could chase around a leaf on the ground but that is with a 2" leaf distance.

Don't buy this.

I will update this post after I replace the batteries, if they change anything.

I got mine today as well. Its about what I expected. There is no way it can match canned air, and it wont work at all for dusting out the inside of your case, but for being small and running on batteries its damn decent. Not to mention its only $6. Not the cleaning tool I was looking for but I still like it. If nothing else it will be a fun toy to tease the dog with 🙂
