So I have a macbook Late 2007. I was reading around and found it interesting that my battery is holding up as well as it is. Is this abnormal (and lucky?)

Number of cycles is 248. Just checked the battery life and on full Wifi, full screen brightness I'm showing close to 4 hours. Experimentation proves that this is very accurate.

Full charge capacity is showing as 4691, but I'll have to double check that later today after fully discharging and recharging (haven't calibrated in a while).

I like it, it means I don't have to buy a new battery :) But is this unusual?

Oops, meant late 2007. No i didn't put on 248 cycles in a few months. More like 14.

got mine mid-to-late 2007. Had to get a new battery last month. It would hold no charge at all.

Mine is doing significantly worse than it used to. I have a Santa Rosa MBP from Summer of '07. I used to get around 3-4 hours with WiFi on, Full Screen brightness, and mild internet surfing and document editing. Now I'm finding it to be closer to 2 hours. I'm getting close to taking it in to see if they'll give me a new battery.

EDIT: Just looked in my "About This Mac" section and saw that I only have a 3047 (mAH) Charge Remaining when it's completely full, and I've only done 140 Charge Cycles. Looks like I'll have to go take it in.. urgh.

kmax,

have you followed apple's calibration technique ever? I had a big problem with mine within 2 months (was only lasting 1.5 hours) and it turned out that i just needed to calibrate my battery. Basically -

Let it run completely down so it shuts off.
Plug it in to charge.
Let it charge to 100%
Let sit before unplugging for a few hours (you can use it here, just don't unplug it)

Might be worth a try with only 140 cycles.
