My wife has a Jitterbug Plus phone that has a dying battery.

Here is the replacement battery from the carrier.

Here is the replacement battery on Amazon found by searching on Jitterbug Plus battery.

Here is the replacement battery on Amazon found by searching on the battery model number.

The last two are sold by the same Amazon retailer. Notice anything?

Prices are all over the place (no idea about quality, would have to do tons of research on that)...I wonder if it is cheaper/better to just get a new phone.

They are all the same battery by Samsung. Mentioning the Jitterbug brand nets one at least an extra $24.

I would assume the $5 one is a knockoff...

It might not be, but that's what I'd think...

Absolutely. 5 yen will get you ten yen the fiver won't even have half the capacity. But if the phone doesn't see much use and is in power saving idle mode a lot it might not be noticeable. That's how they get away with it (sometimes).
