Batman

If there was another game that I was more fond of than TMNT when I was young, it would be Batman. I also never beat it as a kid. Even today it is still a challenge. I don't think I could've beaten it, in a timely manner, if it wasn't for the save feature on emulators. Love it. Came in useful for TMNT III as well.

Weapons are a big part of Batman. If you don't have ammo, you won't be able to continue. One of the biggest reasons I could never beat it was because of the confusing weapons. At the time when I was young, I thought the 3-disc weapon was the strongest. It put on the biggest show; it even took 3 ammo from you. It made sense, but boy was I wrong. It turns out what I thought was the weakest weapon was actually the strongest. It only takes 1 ammo away from you, but the batarang is fast and can cause multiple damage with just one throw. If you keep launching them, it's near instantaneous kills. It really makes the other weapons obsolete. But they have their uses in certain rare situations.

The graphics are great. Batman really has that dark, gritty feel of the movie. And the cutscenes are very impressive for a NES game, I think.

The music is very memorable. Yes, if it's one thing that will always stick with me from this game, it's the music. It's just great.

It always feels great punching enemies in the game. And in this Batman game, you can actually climb up walls by jumping from wall to wall - It's so cool. This is one of the greatest Batman games in existence.

I was a huge Batman fan as a kid, but never played a Batman videogame. I'll keep that one in mind. I currently have two non-working NES systems, but possibly can get one or both working once I find the capacitors I need.

I liked the game when I was a kind, but I always had the nagging feeling it was not a Batman game in reality, but rather another game that was being developed by SunSoft at the time and on which they slapped the Batman license when the first movie came out halfway through its development.

Another good one is Batman Returns for SNES. I remember liking it as a kid a lot.

I wouldn't be surprised. Back in the NES days, game companies got away with murder. Making a game in a few weeks and selling it for $50-100. And they are usually super short, but hard as heck. And I'm not even talking about inflation. I'm actually surprised they didn't raise the price of video games sooner.

That was a good one. I used to play that a ton back in the day. You're really going through the old school games recently aren't ya VIAN?
