Batman is typically WAY more clever than his opponents and would undoubtedly lure Spidey into a trap. Spidy would undoubtedly win a one on one fight with no gadgets, in fact he'd beat the ever-loving crap out of the mere human.

I seem to remeber that there WAS a Batman Spiderman crossover in the most recent Amalgam thing...

Spiderman- super agile, super strength. Batman would kick any normal human's hinney, but the super powers trump his gadgets and kung foo.

Batman/Spiderman II (1997)
By J.M. De Matties, Graham Nowlan, and Karl Kesel
Published by DC

This was better than the first Batman/Spiderman, with a good story and sensational art by Nowlan. The villains were Kingpin and Ra´s al Ghul.

batman is cool b/c of all teh gadgets and what not he has and has a boat load of money but without those he isnt really a super hero, hes just a regular guy.

Spiderman on the other hand is a boy who turned into a super hero. He is trying to balance both lives equally but runs into hard times. In the comics there was an issue that since he had no money he had no web shooters. IMO Spiderman is much more of a "real" character than batman and I vote for him.

The winner is: Batman
but "spiderman" is really "spider-man" so a google search for both totals 6050000 for Spider-Man.

Winner = Spider-Man

Hey man... I just google fought exactly what the OP stated. Even if spiderman were to win the google fight, its still painfully clear Batman would win.

Both are intelligent, but the edge goes to Batman. Batman also has near infinite resources at his fingertips.

Spider-Man is definitely stronger, more resilient, and more agile than Batman. In a physical fight the edge goes to Spider-Man.

If Batman had a way of capturing Spider-Man, he might be able to defeat him.

Mind you, if Venom can't kill Spider-Man, I doubt Batman could.

I'd give Spider-Man the odds.

Batman's got that utility belt... can't underestimate that utility belt...

Then he's got Robin to back him up... but Robin's a pansy so...

The only way Doc Oc and Green Goblin were able to beat spiderman (and these are just men with gadgets like batman) was by forcing spiderman to save people during the fight. They couldn't win without this tactic.
Batman would never do that though so he would lose.

They're both motivated by the same thing:

Batman: to fight crime because of murdered parents during mugging which he couldn't stop

Spiderman: to fight crime becauase of murdered uncle during robbery which he could have stopped but didn't.

However, the batman movies sucked. Especially the new ones. The characters and stories are two dimensional. The riddler? Two Face? Poison Ivy? 1 dimensional and the story was a straight and obvious line. Character development? Never heard of it.

The spiderman movies were fantastic on the other hand! Excellent character development and decent depth. A real message behind the movies.

Spiderman would clearly win because he's fully 3d. Batman is 2d like a piece of paper. I'm sure spiderman could kick a piece of paper's ass.

"Holy sticky white goo in my mouth Batman!"
"Robin, stop eating the clues! That webbing is all we have to go on!"

SpiderMan would win, no contest. Enhanced strength + spider senses + super agility + web shooting > A guy in a rubber suit who can't even properly turn his head. Though the molded nipples might give him an edge. Don't get me wrong though, I like Batman.
