I just happen to be a in a very lucky situation where I love these tones and dark themes and both of these dcu films from Zac Snyder but it doesn't feel great to witness lots of other fans hurting. It doesn't make you strange or weird because some love or hated something that others have opposite feelings about. We should just unite as fans and try to get at least something positive for the fans that don't like these films.

There is plenty of positive for fans that don't like these films. The relative flop of this movie (as defined by its huge drop the second week) will inject a dose of Prozac into the entire DC universe. Warner is spending tens of millions of dollars to reshoot Suicide Squad, probably to make it more fun even though the director won't admit that. Aquaman has now been announced to have a fun tone and I wouldn't be surprised to see Flash go in that direction as well.
Snyder is still directing Justice League so we probably have at least one more of these types of movies to look forward to if you like that sort of thing, but I would expect other future DCU movies to be more approachable thanks to the B v S disappointment.

Hollywood doesn't always learn the right lesson from successes or failures. Warner was wrong to think the Dark Knight was popular because it was dark in tone, it was popular because of amazing acting on the screen.

There is something positive...
We'll get a parody joke in some future film or youtube video where two people who have killed each others' friends and pets will stop fighting because they somehow discover their mothers have the same first name.

I went in with low expectations due to the reviews and I loved it. Enjoyed it more than many recent Marvel movies, just because it was a bit less formulaic. If it wasn't faithful to the comic, who cares? It's not the comic. If you want the story from the comic, read the comic.
Particularly enjoyed the "confusing" jumping around in the story, because it helped make a long movie feel shorter. I mean, if you aren't confused by Game of Thrones telling multiple stories in each episode, you won't be confused by BvS jumping from one PoV to another.
Was the greatest movie of the year? No. It was slightly above average entertainment, I might watch it again on video, but it certainly wasn't as bad as some of the reviewers claimed it was. I feel like this is a case of everyone wanting to be Simon. If the movie has a single flaw, it's absolute shit. Sorry I don't agree.
Add it to the pile with Prometheus and Pacific Rim. It's a fine entertaining movie.

Just crossed 800 million, expected to come close to 900 by the time it starts slipping out of theaters.
Moneywise a pretty good showing for the new DC branded line. Judging from the trailers, think suicide squad will tap into the post-deadpool market and also do quite well, so it should be a pretty good foundation to improve upon with their future endeavors.

Sure it made a lot of money but I have a feeling that WB expected it to make about a third more....
As it stands according to Box Office Mojo BvS made less in 20 days than Iron Man 3 did in 20 days.... WTF? There's no way that should happen if BvS was as good as it should have been.
I found Iron Man 3 "pretty ok" but nowhere near as good as Iron Man.
BvS should have made more money at the same point in their theatrical runs.
These characters are more iconic than Iron Man... it's just that Marvel Studios has done a very good job with the less iconic characters from Marvel Comics in terms of adapting them to film, even if the story lines aren't the best. But when they're good they're among the best comic book movies ever made.

That's the sad part... if the movie was maybe 80% as good as the first Avengers Movie I'm sure it'd be over 1 billion world-wide by now... and I'd have a reason to see it more than once.

The hard part of any movie involving Superman will always be the fact I'll never feel concerned for his well being. Being completely invulnerable and having infinite strength is one thing but then the rare times he does get hurt, he happens to have super healing as well.
This movie was no exception. The entire time I never felt that Superman was in danger even with all the dramatic effects of him getting his ass kicked in various ways.
Although I still liked the movie, it was the experience and interpretation that was entertaining.

I think you are correct here. They are doing re-shoots to add more humor, after seeing how successful Deadpool was. And also because the overly dark tone of BvS was too dark for many. http://www.newsweek.com/suicide-squad-doing-reshoots-add-more-humor-443086
That isn't the only important factor. There is a also a big desire to see something "original", and while Iron Man might not be brand new, coming from a comic book, it was actually new to a lot of movie-goers. Superman and Batman, on the other hand, have been in the theaters every few years for the last three decades. I am sure there are some people who are like "bleh, ANOTHER superman movie? I'll watch it on video"... while Iron Man was something completely new and different, never before seen by the non-comic reading populace.

I think you're underestimating the "novelty" of seeing Batman and Superman together on screen in a major movie for the first time.
If it was done well without that moronically mediocre "Martha Moment" it could have been something that average people, not just hardcore fans who will Phantom Menace this, would have wanted to see more than once and not just a novelty
The actual fight was cool the way it started and ended was face-palm worthy though.
