Unlocked the game this morning. Looks nice, time to play some. A few screenshots if you want to take a look, no spoilers.

Feels just like City to me and visually looks the same as well. Not far enough in yet to see if it has that same open world feeling or not.

Hmm,reading in the forums different people in different time zones and locations are getting random unlock times with my time zone being central i guess getting a unlocked about 5pm or about 8 hours from now according to the store.

Dang have not been following this... is today the release date for all systems? I've yet to buy this for PC because it's been a perfect game for consoles.

I'll be snagging this for XBox most likely (same system as Asylum & City).

I believe the release date is technically tomorrow (10/25).

Did you guys have to stay logged into your VPN to play the game? Or once it's activated, you no longer need the VPN?

I'm using FlyVPN, but if I'm not logged in, the game is still locked.

After you log in - unlock - install, and before disconnecting from the service you use to unlock, put Steam in offline mode and then turn off the service. Leave it in offline mode until it unlocks for your region.

Use a VPN to unlock it, then follow Grooveriding's instructions below.

After you log in - unlock - install, and before disconnecting from the service you use to unlock, put Steam in offline mode and then turn off the service. Leave it in offline mode until it unlocks for your region.

I think the Batman games generally look nice, but the textures are usually pretty lacking and as a whole it looks dated. I attribute this squarely to them still using UE3, a pretty dated and weak engine compared to the more modern alternatives like CE3, FB3 etc.

They've done a good job of tacking on DX11 and other effects, but the games still look dated to me in some ways. It will be really something when we see the next batman game which I am guessing will be on UE4.

Good thing they're amazing game play wise!

My impressions so far is that the combat really is refined. Batman moves and hits faster than he did in Arkham City, but so do your enemies. They've also added some new combat animations to Batman's repertoire.

HBAO+ is awesome. It's the best implementation of AO I've yet seen in a game, and the PhysX snow effects is great. I only wish they'd included a high rez texture pack like Arkham City.

It's the newest form of ambient occlusion from NVidia that's more accurate than other forms.. Ambient occlusion is a subtle technology, but it makes a big difference in overall scene quality.

Man, this game is just epic. The fight at Penguin's ship is wicked! :twisted:

For their first game, the WB Montreal team did an outstanding job. Although it's easier to build on the strong foundation that Rocksteady already established, their effort is still top notch imo.

Has anyone found the location of the AR glide drills, the second in the "Gotham Protector" series? It says it is marked on the map, but it isn't.
I also have trouble finishing the third in the "Worst Nightmare" series. The challenge is to finish an entire predator encounter without being seen. I had encounter and did 3 silent takedowns and was not seen, received grade "S" for silent/unseen. But the challenge is still open??
