whenever it comes it takes to long if you ask me

They kept on delaying the game (month+?), yet have issues with DX11... and various crashes (GFWL related though). So what exactly did they do with the extra time?

they obviously didnt do anything to "polish" it as they said they were doing. the fact that dx11 is effectively broken on ALL hardware configurations says they didnt test it or didnt care. ive got other games to play so ill just let this sit and collect dust until they fix it. it was a freebie with my 570 purchase so its not like i paid 50 bux for it and feel ripped off. though i do feel bad for those that paid 50 bux on release day only to have it be 25 bux three days later on black friday. ouch.

Just turn off DX11 and the game will run smoothly, and it's a blast to play! Who cares if it's not quite as pretty as DX11 might make it? I got my copy free with my 560Ti, but I would have had no problem paying full price for it so far.

bah havent even played at all yet.. picked it up for 25 bucks yesterday and trying to get it downloaded..

seeing that it is broken in DX11 mode pisses me off though..

guess it's going to sit while it comes..

bet it doesnt even support Eyefinity then does it?

I passed on the 30 dollar console version of this b/c the PC is supposed to be superior in every way. A showcase title as Ars calls it. I hope they patch this up soon.

You seriously won't notice a difference with dx9 vs 11 in this game. Its very polished game.

Its a long game to, i got about 6 hours into it and about %13 into it.

6 hours and 13%? That's insane !
the only way to get to 100% id do all the challenge rooms and other stuff that most people will never fool with. its still a ton of content though as I am at 26 hours and have not touched the challenge rooms or most other stuff besides the main story and some side missions. I have to be getting pretty close to the end of the main story though.

Even in DX9 the game has a lot of hitches and hiccups that I find annoying. It doesn't happen much in combat, but if I grapple too fast and start moving quick I get some slowdown. People who say it's 100% smooth in DX9 are either lucky or lying. It seems to have something to do with how it loads the world, and if you go too fast it has to load quicker and slows you down. I'd expect a patch would be an easy fix, but I expect them to not release a quick patch for that when they're supposedly working on DX11.

Sounds like a driver issue you got. Or not fast enough system for settings you chose.

Given the absurd detail I can push in other games, I'm blaming this one. An i5-2500k and gtx570 should have no issues with a DX9 game. Skyrim runs beautifully with no slowdown whatsoever. New beta drivers released yesterday though, so maybe things will go smoother. Regardless... its a game specific problem that has been reported by more than one person.

wow when you guys said POOR performance you were not kidding...

12FPS average with 1 card..

20 with both..

this is a X58 i7 920 running at 4ghz
12 gigs DDR3 1600
2x 6950 2 gigs in crossfire..

pushing 5040x1050 eyefinity..

unplayable..

tempted to ask for a refund.. my system should flat destroy this game..

Since my card is only a DX10 card, I had to play with DX9. I had no performance issues. However, more often than not, when I start the game, it crashes while "Searching for DLC" and I have no idea why.

On a side note, I finished the storyline at around 21 hours, having gotten about half the trophies/riddles and maybe 3 quarters of the side missions. Played on hard. Boss fights in this game seemed easier than in Arkham Asylum.

Percentage of these games are not on how long you've played, they're about how many things you've completed like Riddler's stuff and challenges.

Tried playing with 3D vision yesterday and it was pretty impressive. The only jarring parts are during some cut scenes or finishing animations when things are WAY closer than they are during normal game play. I keep the depth down further than I'd like otherwise, but it's still distracting. During one cutscene I disabled 3D entirely because it was very off and messing with my vision. I've adjusted things to help reduce it, but it's still no possible to eliminate it all and still get good 3D out of it.

Did you turn off DX11? Your system will have absolutely no problem running the game at playable framerates with DX11 turned off. Have to wait for the DX11 patch to get it running appropriately with that turned on.

No I want to play with ALL the bling on.. I don't spend oodles of money on PC gaming systems to play in old technology..

if i wanted to play in DX9 I would have got the 360 version..

I'm tired of the trend of delaying and still releasing bad and broken games. and then relying on patches to fix the game post release.

That's been going on for... 20 years now? :)

EDIT: Well worth the $40 I paid on Steam. I loved the first one and thought this one's storyline was really campy in comparison, but it's got the solid gameplay to back it up. The challenges are what really do it for me... I'll spend hours trying to beat my old score, take no hits and use only 1 combo each round... Tricky as hell but when it comes together you're in Nirvana. :)

The patch was accidentally leaked, but in an unfinished state as it doesn't support GFWL. However, according to people that have tested it, it does fix the DX11 performance issues (somewhat) and reduces launch time. If it was leaked, it means that the official release is imminent, but if you just have to play the game in DX11 mode right now, download this patch and play the game with an offline account, because you won't be able to save with your GFWL account.

Thanks for the info! I'm glad I found this thread.

No problem. And if any one is wondering, your games will still save with this patch installed.

It will just save in offline mode. I backed up my install files so that when the real patch is released, I don't have to worry about installing the new patch over the old one.

Any update on the patch for this game? This thread is buried - so I am bringing it back !!!

Still wondering if its worth buying on PC since folks are having a rough go w/ it on decent hardware. All to play it DX9.

Game was patched last week for 64 bit users. Runs a lot smoother for me know.
