Argh I want this game. I'm trying to wait until I can get it on a hot deal, but maybe I'll just give in...

There were plenty of hot deals at launch-- $20-$30 gift card from Toys R Us, $10 gift card + free Batman animated DVD at Best Buy, $48 from Amazon.com...

Right now Amazon is offering a future video game credit of $10 and they currently have BAA priced at $52.99. Best Buy has a BOGO 50% off sale going on for 360 games.

:light:

Hmm...you're not helping! 😛

Damn so obvious yet it never crossed my mind. Awesome man.

Yeah, it's a great tactic to use in a room with like 5 or so bad guys. Silently take down 1 bad guy and spray explosive gel around his body. Run and hide. Watch as the other bad guys run to the body of the fallen bad guy. Sometimes one bad guy will stay behind to guard a door or something so swing over by him. When the group of bad guys all get around the body, set off the explosive gel and then swoop down/invert takedown the lone remaining bad guy before they recover.

I wish I had bought it now for that Toys R Us deal last week instead of renting it. I questioned the replayability of the game but between the Riddler trophies/clues and the Challenge Rooms, this game is much more than just a rental.

Does the Joker really add that much to the game, or is it just a cool little bonus with the PS3 version? I would prefer the 360 version, but if the Joker is an awesome addition to the PS3 version...argh, it is hard to decide!

Edit: Also, is the Dem Bones challenge map exclusive to any console, or exclusive to GameStop pre-orders only?

That and batclawing people over ledges is great fun. I finally tried those tactics in a challenge room last night. Next I'd like to take the floor out from under a henchman using the gel or ultra claw.

There was a room in the Botanical Gardens where I must have strung up at least three henchman from different gargoyles using the inverted takedown. It was funny to watch them all hanging there. 🙂

Was able to get my roommates to split the cost, and I just finished it up today. All in all it was a fairly short game for one runthrough, but what a run it was. Fantastic graphics, very solid voice acting, a decent story, and controls that do what they should. Sure I had a couple complaints here and there but not much to take away from the experience. I'm going to try and go back and get all the riddler stuff, then try my hand at more challenges, but I'm not sure I'll play through it again on hard for a while.

Holy crap, looks like this will be the first game where I unlock all of its achievements. All I have left to do is play through the game again on Hard. Blew through the challenge rooms tonight and even somehow pulled off Freeflow Perfection. I didn't think I'd be able to but it really wasn't that bad.

Still enjoying the game, about 60% of the way through. I tend not to blow through games instead I enjoy them a little bit longer. I'm really enjoying the challenge rooms. Being that I love the predator portion of the gameplay I especially like those challenges. So far my best time is in Silent Knight in getting all 3 challenges completed and a time of 1:17.07.

I played the demo but just didn't "get it" and deleted it. I'll download the demo one more time and give it another try, I can't see how this many people can be wrong.

demo =! full game

All the demo does is give you a tiny taste of the combat mechanics. It doesn't give you a taste of the upgrade system (so a wee bit of RPGness to it) the sneaking around and stealth attacks, the story and characters involved, the challenges, etc... Not saying the full game will change your mind, but there's definitely a lot more to it than just the demo.

^^ I agree. The demo wasnt anything special. I played it a few months ago, and was "meh" about it. Read all the good reviews, and went out and bought it. Have been very happy I did. The demo certainly doesnt give a very good representation of the game. As stated above, just gives you a taste of the fighting mechanics. There is so much more of the game.

And I must say, I am enjoying playing as The Joker as well.

You bastards finally got something good on the PS3 😉

I'm wondering if that one item is playable in the Arkham Bat Cave? I know what is is, but I don't want to spoil it.

Man, this game is incredible. Got it on Thursday and beat it this weekend. The PS3 version extras are actually pretty decent, too. You can tell they put some work into the Joker challenges, instead of just slapping a Joker skin on Batman.

This is one of the better games I have played in a while.

Now, to find all of those Riddler Challenges...

Bought it on friday and finished it last night. Best game I have played for the PS3. The voice acting was truly amazing. Now why can't they do a great story like this in a movie?

😕

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight were both great movies.

Ok, question on the riddler puzzles, tapes, etc..

Can I go back and get these later, or are there certain ones that will be "blocked" after a certain segment in the story ?

You can go back and get them after beating the game. In fact, it's kind of preferred to wait until after the last boss because you will have all of the gadgets by then, and there are almost zero enemies left on the island.

Thanks,

I think I would actually prefer to wait.. I have been making a half hearted attempt so far, but it is distracting somewhat from the main story..

"Hurry, Commissioner Gordon is going to die!", "Hold on, I need to go look for a trophy"

heh..

true. but it would be nice to have some enemies to fight even after the game was over. kinda boring to run around looking for trophies, etc. with nothing trying to stop you
