I know this is old news, but valuable for anyone who hasn't played it yet.

After a dozen starts and stops since it was released, I finally sat down for the last few weeks and played it to completion.

Bravo!

Jesus, why can't all PC gaming be this good. I'm not a comic guy at all, but when I heard this was a good game, I gave the demo a shot. It hooked me.

Mostly bug free, graphics were great, the best PC beat-em-up, ummm... probably ever.

There were so many bits in the game and the cut scenes that really blew me away. Even though I'm not a huge fan of the source material, I have many friends who are, and I know they'd LOVE how well they handled the material.

Since this is such old news, I'll leave it at that. Again, if you haven't played this, wait for Steam or GFWL to have a $5 sale and pick it up. Hell, it's worth whatever they're asking. But at $5 it's a no brainer...

I've been playing it over the past couple weeks, 11 hours into it. It's fun but not really that great. Combat is pretty damn easy and repetitive, graphics are decent and do fine but nothing special. Voice acting is where it really shines, it's really well done. Mark Hamill really is the best Joker. The way he does the voice just fits perfectly with the way I'd imagine Joker. Millions of times better than Heath Ledger. The voice acting for almost all the characters in this game really is very good.

Bring on AC.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it! They have an amazing foundation. Add some more throws and grapples.

I love me some old school Double Dragon, and this is an EXTREMELY worthy successor! :)

I would call it a console game much more than a PC game, in design and style. But it plays very well on PC, and looks like tits.

My only complaint is that it felt way too short (even with collecting most of the useless extras) and the normal difficulty really was too easy.

I start every first play through on normal. I don't like to bash my head and damage devices over Ninja Gaiden-style tomfoolery (NES versions) these days.

If I really really like a game enough for a second playthrough (very rare for me these days), I'll up the difficulty.

I think the last time I went through multiple playthroughs was God of War on PS2--when it was still fresh. I played the hell out of that game. Got all the way to Ares, and the final iteration of the battle--on God mode. Never could finish him off, though. :(

Did all the challenges, too.

Low hype, great game, great port. Another enjoyable, but not quite as great game, was the Ghostbusters port.

I always play on hardest level, my goal is not to finish easy or fast. My mindset is "I'm not gonna let a 'game' beat me." Even if that means finding the one spot I can sit and shoot from and not get his, that works for me.

Nothing wrong with playing your way either though, it's all personal preference...

This thread makes me want to play through the game again on hard.

Yeah, take AA for example. On hard, there is a room with a TON of thugs and 2 or 3 of those jacked up goons. Well instead of trying to fight them all (after several attempts), I would just run around the room and avoid them. Every time the bigger thugs would charge, they would hit a few of the smaller ones and then I could take them out...

May sound cheezy, but that is MIND over muscle...grin.

Well I don't really derive much enjoyment out of, as you put it in your previous post, "finding the one spot I can sit and shoot from and not get hit." If I play a game on hard I want to beat it legitimately or not at all. Don't see much point in exploiting bugs. If the game is too hard on the hardest difficulty I'd rather just turn it down and play the way you're supposed to play. Like you said, personal preference.

Then again, running around and letting the big guys take out the little ones isn't really glitching anything, it just seems like it would take a long time.

LOL, it did.

And I didn't really mean a bug, but just like in RL (I guess) you can find a place to DIG in, that is protected and fight the fight from there...

And even then, even on hard, it may take 50x, but I can USUALLY figure out a way to finally beat the level.

Can you imagine if games WERE like RL where if you died, that was IT and you had to start over?

SORRY FOR THE THREAD JACK - AA rocks on any level!!!!!!!!!

I just figured that was the best way to beat them, so that's what I did. :\

Though to speed things up, I'd occasionally whack around one of the hyper thugs so I could crawl on his back and use him to smack around all of the little goons.

I try to avoid taking advantage of poor AI too much as it takes away from the game for me. So if I find something exploitable in the AI I may use it, but I will try not to use it a lot or back to back.

Batman was a very fun game.

I play it on normal as that's how I play all games cus some are really challenging even on normal and some aren't, Batman AA isn't. Bane was really easy to figure out how to beat as there really have been any bosses up to the point I'm at. I'm on my way to Poison Ivy I assume as I'm going through the Botanical Garden right now. Combat really is too easy since like you guys said, AI is dumb. Only time I had to restart was during the first Scarecrow thingy because I didn't know what I had to do.

Great game. I still play the thing with infinite thugs and the other thing with skeletons, don't know if I have it in me to play through it again.

The single button spam combat turned me off of the game, and while I played the demo to completion, nothing but the overall presentation and production values seemed worthwhile. So I was left wondering what everyone was so excited about (though I understand how crazy people go for pretty graphics and production values). Though that's noting new, I don't understand the hype behind pretty much any game released these days.

You know know that you can string together combo's using the cape stun and such right? So it's not just single button mashing at all.

Ok, one button mashing with the occasional other button touched. That's my main complaint with it, fights are too easy.

I finally beat it. The boss battle suck as they're pretty much all the same. The game was fun but every fight is practically the same. I'll get Arkham City but only when it's like $20.
