bathroom sink clogged... time to get the draino?

I tried cleaning it manually... but I think I made it worse... should I just run some draino in it? Anything I should worry about?
 
Yes but, get Draino foaming pipe cleanser.

It has been recommended to me by the water and sewer city guys that I know and it works wonders.
 
what do you mean by manually? did you pull the trap off of it? or did you just pull the stopper out of it and clean it that way.
