Batch file problems

this is highly technical to me anyways. I can get my batch file to open edit in dos and have the right file opened, but is there anyway i can get it to add something to the file. like adding a CALL command in autoexec.bat by using a batch file to open autoexec.bat and then add the line and then save and exit. Thanks for any help
