aren't you a little up there in age for a crotch rocket? mid life crisis?

edit: saw the pic. you can dress it up how you want, it's still a mid life crisis bike.

I looked at the Connie too, and decided on the FJR. But, welcome to sport touring 🙂 Connie has its issues, but overall its a decent bike. If you and wifey like to two up alot, it will serve you well.

Oh, and pray kpass doesnt flake out on you while on the road 😉
I'd prefer the FJR but it's out of my price range. I set 6K as my limit and they were 1.5K above that. This bike was only 3.5K with 16K miles.

I know there is a buzz from the solid engine mounts but I assume someone make after market mounts.
And what's "kpass"?

I have to fly to LA tomorrow and will be back Tuesday. I'll be buying this Kawasaki Concours.

That should be fun!

I am 52. My mid life crisis and seven year itch are behind me. I sold my quads, I need to feel the wind in my face. That and gas will be $6 a gallon this year. Obama will kill the dollar, inflation will soar and the zombies will get us.
Now I need to build an AR-10. Or maybe an AR-12...

Well, for example, heres one http://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showtopic=137120

2005 w/ABS, 10k miles, garage kept, with a few nice farkles...for $6800 OBO....theres deals out there if youre patient 🙂

Anywhoo, Connie is a nice bike. kpass is Kawasaki's "security" system. Basically is a fob you carry that, when a certain distance from the bike (10 feet?) wont allow the bike to run. But, if you read through the Concourse forums, it has left a few people stranded. Im not trying to talk you out of the Connie BTW but when buying a sport touring bike, you should know all you can before buying.

🙂 I've been considering having a midlife crisis and start riding the extra Yamaha bike this summer.

My wife won't let me. 🙁

I think most motorcycle accidents/fatalities are in the middle-age, late thirties and fourties, as opposed to young'uns.

But in all fairness, if you look at statistics, that same age group is the fastest growing group of riders. Its a non sequitur, really.

Which is interesting as I never see older folk on one wheel doing 80 on the highway. I can't say the same for the younger generation.

Just got back from picking it up.
First trip was about 80 miles. 75 of it on the freeway. It was a little windy in the SF bay area but I didn't get blown around too much.
Can't wait to take a ride on the coast and in the country.
