Get bigger Speakers :)

Winamp has a built in graphic equaliser, and I think the creative audioHQ software allows you to adjust the bass output.

Generally, if there's not enough bass to start with that's the fault of the speakers and trying to force more bass out is gonna sound hideous.

What setup you got?

[edit]
I just re-read that...
Most speakers cut off at above 40Hz, only a <serious> subwoofer is going to get down there. It's pretty much below the threshold of human hearing anyway...

To get sht. remotely listenable out at 20Hz you need rather good sepakers or subwoofer. Sth. like this for example...

There's no way you can extend the bass with software. You can alter the midbass to make it appear to sound leaner or fuller, but you can't extend the bass. It's like an import vs a big block V8. You can get a lot of hp out of the little high revving motors by tuning them, but you will never get anywhere near the torque of a big block.

You not only need a suitable subwoofer, but a suitable room. Bass frequencies are so long that it requires a good size room to reproduce them fully.
