Bass guitar in a marching band???

what the hell??? Denver TV is broadcasting the Parade of Lights and while watching some high school marching band we saw some dude with a bass guitar... :disgust: didnt see any power going to it, nor was there a dude humping a speaker for the sound.

 
I live in indiana and sadly last year one marching band (state champs) had a stupid electric guitar player jump up on a stand and play smoke on the water while all the bands swayed....ya really stupid but hey they got 1st.
 
Close to the dumbest thing I've ever heard of. I could understand if there was a float nearby and/or he was on the float, but just marching with a bass guitar is kinda pathetic.
 
We had a bass guitarist in our High School marching band but he stood on the side with the xylophones and such. No idea how you'd march with one unless it had a battery pack and a wireless hook up to an amp or something... *boggle*
