Wait the OPs criteria are:

The requirements of a basketball player is:

A) Tall
B) Coordinated

Requirements of a football player:

A) Tall (to a degree, depends on position)
B) Fast
C) Strong
D) Agile
E) Coordinated
F) Intelligence

Have you ever even played or watched basketball? You don't have to be Agile? Fast? Intelligent?... who said "tall" is a requirement. There are/were MANY players VERY successful in the NBA and college that were sub-6ft tall.

Entire post is rubbish.

I'm not dogging basketball!!!!!!!!

I'm simply saying that football demands that every player on the field (the only exception is the QB) is in absolute peak physical condition. Many basketball players are in incredible shape, but none of them are like football players, where they're running in a field with a parachute on, etc.

Short players are the exception, not the norm. Stop being ridiculous. How many players in the NBA are under 6'1" tall?

I don't see much parity between the two sports. Maybe you could compare the WR, DB, and possibly TE positions in football with the F and possibly C positions in basketball. I'd give basketball players a slight edge in conditioning, since they're constantly running up and down the court. I'd give football players a slight edge in strength, since they put more emphasis on strength training and physical contact.

Let me try putting it this way:

I can name you 5 wide receivers that are over 6' and run sub-4.3-40s... no fvcking NBA player runs a sub-4.3-40

The best athletes in the world are probably Gymnasts.

Offensive linemen are some of the smartest athletes in the world.

I think your friend is an idiot for saying "basketball has the best athletes in the world, period." Not just because he's wrong, but because he ended a sentence with the word period. That's lame. I don't think you can stay any sport has the best athletes in the world. Each sport stresses different abilities. What takes more skill, shooting a basket or hitting a curveball? What takes more endurance, playing basketball for an hour or swimming 2.4 miles, biking 100 miles and running a marathon in the same day? What takes more concentration, shooting a free-throw or sinking a putt from 15 feet? What takes more energy, running the length of a basketball court a few times or skating a shift in the NHL?

Your friend might as well have said "basketball is my favorite sport in the world, period." That's why he said what he said. He can't see past his own bias.
