well they are oem liquidators.

They get stuff really cheap. They also are part of evertek anyway, so I don't think geeks is the only thing they do.

Just received my 2x today. the 8 pin EPS is NON-splitable. The packing seems quite solid, air pillows on top of 2 PSUs. Haven't got time to test them out yet will install one in my ip35e based system this weekend. But it's got a very compact form same length as EW500 (seasonic model) I got which is compact. Smaller than the older version1 of this PSU I use in another system. This model I got says version 4. everything else same spec as my older version1.

be an ass if you want. I'm merely telling my personal experience with several shipments from geeks over 3 years.

Got my 2 in today. Packaging could use some serious help. Big box, ea psu wrapped in 1 layer of sm. bubble wrap, on bottom of box and some air packs thrown in. 1 side of box had sm hole in it, but looks like psu's were unharmed visually. Will test tonight. It looks like they should be fine. Also there is a sticker on this psu that states it has a 25db rating; which would explain it being quiet. Not sure how it does under good load though. For the money; this deal can't be beat!

on a side note: Got my Antec CP-850 yesterday. Its not as big as everyone says and damn is it quiet. It puts out some heat though...Still lovin it!

Ordered 3 and only got 2... was kinda sad... they said they sold about 700 in a matter of a few days, and some people bought 200 or 150 at a time >_<

Packing was terrible, you could tilt the box and the PSU's would silde from one end to the other... hah... one of them had a small dent, but they seem really well built, so I wasn't concerned.

He told me that they might get more instock, but will probabyl charge more 2nd time around... if they do they can send my 3rd, otherwise I get to choose from their excellent selection a replacement of equivalent size/connectors/value. (Which doesn't exist on their site)

Oh well, they are both near silent when turned on and have plenty of connectors, I prefer 24 and 8pin, this is the perfect PSU for standard builds imo. can even run a simple crossfire/SLI setup. or a single Bigger card like 4870 or GTX260... :)

I think I saw some "lesser known" overstock/liquidation sites selling these for around $20-25, so maybe that's what happened?

why didn't I think of that!? :[ $10 profit a piece adds up to a nice grand or two. A new i7 system maybe? or a really really large RAID made up entirely of Velociraptors. my mind just couldn't keep up. :}

Though I discourage brand loyalty, enhance has been good to me in the past. In 2002 I built a server-class PC with a Tyan s2460 mobo and 2 cpus. My first two 400+ watt PSUs didn't work. Then I got a 330w enhance PSU that weighed a ton and worked beautifully. Just had a noisy fan which i spliced out. It ran for 5 years on constantly and never died.

But of course anyone can go downhill, still it is a name that is uncommon that I trust.

Titan, I'm with you. I had an Enhance 350W that lasted through 3 systems. I bought it right when everyone started thinking they needed 600W PSUs. It ran w/o a hitch for 5+ years before going to a new home in the FS/T forum.

Tested out one of two 5150gh last night, replaced a EW500 with one. Was pleasantly surprised by its performace:

my system spec roughly: ip35e e7200@3,5 6200LE 2xDDR2 1xHD.
For EW500: 65W idle at the plug, 120W OCCT load.
For Enhance: 60W idle, 100W OCCT load.

At load it's a whole 20% more efficient than EW500!! Just great performance! I will test out the other one on the same system when I get home tonight. But it looks like Enhance is far more efficient at low wattage system compare to EW500. What a bargain at $20.

Just got mine and it was packed VERY well. Essentially it came in a laptop shipping box surrounded by thick foam on all sides.

Mine came. Horrible packaging, for $12 shipping I would expect more than a couple half-deflated air pillows thrown in the oversized box with the PSU, allowing it to bounce all around in the box
The PSU itself appears undamaged however, I'll be testing it later.

My two arrived today, and luckily the box looked like it got a ride on top. I tested both by attaching two old IDE HDD's and using a 20-pin Antec tester on a 20-24 pin adapter. 12v and 5v were almost dead-on with both. Flat black finish looks very good.

Ditto.
The PSU's were wrapped w/some type of paper, then in bubble wrap, then thrown into a box & the air pillows on top.
The box was pretty banged up.
What's this I hear about testers??

Mine (I ordered 2) arrived this morning. This is by far the worst packaging job I've ever seen. Shipping box was only half filled with air pillows and 2 PSUs were individually packaged in sandwich bag like thin plastic bag. No original box of it's own. PSUs were all scratched up and dented. I bet my PUSs were head butted to the death in transit. I'm not gonna buy anything from Geeks again.:| By the way, they were picked up from MEMPHIS, TN by FedEx. Thank you guys in MEMPHIS, TN:frown:

Mine is also picked up from Memphis, TN. Exactly the same worst package ever. Both power supplies have scratch and dents, no protection whats so ever. Hopefully the PS still functions ok. Those bastards at geeks.com

that is weird, i thought geek's warehouses were always in CA. maybe for some items they get shipped out of TN now.

everything i've gotten out of CA has always been well packed from them, but i live in CA so i'd never get anything from their apparently new TN warehouse.

i guess it makes sense though since TN is the fedex hub for north america.

I have great trepidation over the packaging. I ordered 10. I can just imagine all 10 of them banging around together on their way here. :(

I live about 3 hrs. from Memphis (i'm in So. IL) & mine was shipped from San Diego.
Where can one find a PSU tester? Is that easier than digging out a motherboard & setting it up?
