Is it possible to upgrade the HD in any Tivo product and get the higher capacity? Meaning, can I just find the cheapest one out there and then upgrade it? Thx.

you need to ask this at the tivo community

short answer is yes but there are EXTREME differences in upgradability, from drive rails to having to do weird stuff when the tivo allready has 2 drives

Also there are big differences. I have and love my DirecTIVO because I can record on two channels at once. THis comes in handy when GF wants Dawsons Creek and I want Enterprise!
