Quick question guys, friend gave me a card reader but it has no usb ports on it and it only has like 5 pins. Where should this cable go to? A free usb connection on the motherboard?
I agree. Cardreaders are usually or always USB, if its not standard usb 2.0 interface then i would assume it would have to be the usb connection on the mobo.
With five wires, it should go onto a header like RadiclDreamer pointed out. If you are unsure of which direction it goes, keep in mind that ground pins are towards the key, so on the 5 pin there should be 2 black wires. Point those towards the key (the missing pin) on the row that has 5.
