Basic question about a VPN

techs

Lifer
I am thinking of using a VPN to access the internet and other online activity.

Somethink like IPVANISH here:
http://www.ipvanish.com/vpnsp-promo/?a_aid=VSP&a_bid=63d19a76&chan=VPNSP

I use a router and have three computers on it. However, I only want to use VPN on one computer.

My question is it possible to just assign one program, say Internet Explorer or Firefox to use the VPN and let other programs connect normally?

Any info on this would be helpful. Thanks.

Looking at their site. It looks like you establish the VPN and proxy through their servers to the internet. So, any traffic you send will go through their servers first and then to their destination. This will only occur on the computers which have their software installed.

IE has a function to use a VPN for its connection. You can enable this under Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections.
