Basic Projector - Small Business

Looking for recommendations for a basic, sturdy projector for a small business. Bi-monthly use, must be easy for non-techies to use. Thanks
 
any mobility requirement? as in do you need to take it out of your building and go to client sites?
 
Nope, we'll have it in the office at all times. It should be fairly portable - we have visiting speakers who like to use their own laptops to connect to the projector.

if it is in the office and presumably in the same room, why would you make it portable? Just go fixed installation.

The reason is the stuff marked as ultra-portable are compact first, functional second.


Also, how big a room and how big a image size do you want?

Lighting condition when projecting, are you able to turn off some of the lights if not all?

The room in question is also leased for film and TV shoots - unless the installation is stellar, mgmt does not want any permanent tech installations in the room. It would be best if we could bring out the projector only when needed.

ok. so table top is fine? Budget?
 
Room can seat 60 people comfortably - lights can be turned off and dimmed. Room has large windows which do not pose a problem - most use of the projector will be during evening hours.

I imagine you want a bigish image for 60 people. Any target image size and are you looking for 4:3 or 16x9?

We set-up usually from 4-30 people at a time. We have a large conference table in the center of the room and then chairs around the outer edges of the space.

that probably means you need a bigger image. How big is the screen and is 16x9 image desired? Most bargain projectors are still 4x3. especially the conference room type.

You don't got the cash for it. Thing is 16x9 projectors are aimed at home theatre and as such do not have as high an output level as business projectors. They also cost a lot more.
