I'll start off with some basics and let you all add the rest:

Know how to change a tire
Know how to change your oil
Know how to open a bottle of beer with whatever is within arm's length
(seatbelt is my favorite...)
Know who who won the last World Series and Super Bowl
(bonus points for knowing who won ALL of them)
Know pertinent stats of every big name sports hero in your hometown
Know top speed, horsepower and 1/4 mile times of at least 10 cars
(bonus points for knowing 10 model years of 10 cars...)
Know how to make your own beer
Know how to undo a bra with one hand

Let me guess, you think every man should know the name of four different shades of beige?

Yah, and I really don't care about knowing the 1/4 mile times of 10 cars. :p

Every man should know how to do things he doesn't know how to do. At least that's what women seem to think, and the main reason I learned to become an at home plumber.

The only thing that matters on that list is:

1. Being able to impress women.

That's it.

Know how to properly use a circular saw, table saw, drill, hammer, tape measure, and level. With those, you can build a ton of stuff, and always have a needed skill if your field of work gets slow.

no, i can milk a cow, i can herd sheep, i can build furniture from scratch, i just am not into sports

i like watching the Braves play baseball, but i don't watch football or other sports

i just think there are plenty of "man" things besides sports that could be substituted for the sports stuff

I think rattling off sports/car facts isn't useful, although you should understand the fundamentals of all major sports so that you can at least explain to her why the guy in black and white keeps throwing his hanky on the field.

In addition to the others:
Know how to build a fire.
Know how to drive a stickshift
Know how to jump start a car
Know how to bait a hook and remove a fish from the hook
Know how to do basic repairs around the house, or at least know how to improvise.

Ah - I totally neglected home repair skills:

Know how to use a mitre box
Know the difference between a crosscut saw and a backsaw
Know how to install drywall

how to grill
how to perform oral on a woman well
how to tie a tie
how to play poker

i don't know about the specific car and sports ones, but you should at least be able to fake it, at the very least, in the presence of a woman.

good one.

Everyman should be able to name nearly any tool in a hardware shop, and know how to use it.

This doesn't exactly apply to me.

Not everyone is a ricer and cares about car speeds.
Not everyone cares about sports.
Changing a tire yes, maybe oil but not a necessity.
Bra with one hand I agree.

I'd only have to say learning how to properly satisfy a woman as has been said.

Service his car
Pleasure a woman
Repair and installwork around the house
Take good care of his kids

If you can do that, you got yourself a life.
