Basic Asset/Inventory Management Software?

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone here could point me to some very basic inventory/asset management software? All I really need it to do is work as a standalone piece of software on one computer. It just needs to be able to keep a track of all tools (for builders/mechanics) and then needs to be able to tag tools as "out of the workshop" and denoting that they have been returned or are due for service?

MS Access would do that. Look up a tutorial on it.
