Basic 2.1 Audio Setup not Working - Help!

Hey Guys...

I am stuck and looking for some guidance. I am trying to setup a simple 2.1 (Cambridge Soundworks) speaker setup for my kid's rig, and have the following problems:

1 - Cannot get sound out of the right front speaker
2 - When headphones are plugged in, sound comes out of other speakers as well

Now, my kid's rig is running the following items (pertinent items):

Abit AN8 SLI Motherboard (latest bios) - board comes with an AudioMax 7.1 daughter card
On-board AC'97 7.1 Sound (latest Realtek drivers dated 12-26-05)
Cambridge Soundworks 2.1

The speakers are connected to the Line-In (green plug) on the AudioMax daughter card. The Front Panel audio is connected to the appropriate front panel jumpers on the daughter card as well.

Finally, these speakers were working on another rig.

Any tips? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks much!

For the speakers, is it possible that you're not pushing in the plug all the way / it's hitting the case and not making it in all the way?
Try spinning it around a little and see if it's a connection issue.

For the headphones, can't you just turn the speakers off so that they don't play?
