Keep crying.

Prove to me how Bush lost the election?? give me facts and sources

MUHUHAHAHAHAHA!!! You are truly a prize. Were you even born in 1992? Remember that guy you hate, who served two terms and got oral favors from a pudgy intern? Keep up the good work and attention to detail!

As for "facts and sources," try, say, any newspaper published on the planet in early November 1992, or GHWB's memoirs.

I've been pondering Runner's post for hours trying to figure out if he's being sarcastic or simply misinterpreted the conversation by assuming it was about GW as opposed GHW. I'd be curious to see if, when poked in the knee cap, your leg would jerk faster than you wrote this reply.

Ah yes, I remember Lollapalooza 1992 so fondly. Was quite enjoying myself, Pearl Jam was putting on a great show. Eddie Vedder at some point during the show screeches " If George Bush wins this election I'm leaving this country and never coming back!!!"

Well, Eddie is still here 🙂 My first exposure to liberal hypocrisy and I didn't even know it until 8 years later! I'm a slow learner I guess.

LOL, what are you a Rocket Scientist?? Bush lost that election!!

BTW, that was one kick ass show, the RHCP were awesome!

Keep crying.

LOL, we all assumed that you didn't read the original post. On the other hand we knew that "Runner at the Mouth" did yet didn't comprehend what actually was posted.

I concur, and apologize for my snottiness. I think this is a risk of not reading prior posts, especially when you are relying on someone like Runner to understand them and respond appropriately.

Well, in a vain attempt to steer this back on topic: What is it precisely that turns an ordinary person into a Dr. Marilyn O'Grady (the individual behind the "Bruce boycott" ads)? I mean, normal people are going to see this "Rock the Vote" type concert tour and say to themselves, "Well, I don't agree with the politics of this event and therefore I don't plan to attend." And hey, you know what, that would be the end of the story right there.

But then we have these red-faced partisans who are so absolutely incensed that someone would have differing political views that they go through the trouble of producing an attack ad, organizing a boycott and making it (seemingly) their number one priority to PUNSIH that individual for having a different point of view. What broken sequence of DNA is responsible for this kind of behavior?

Look, Dr. Marilyn is well within her rights to do whatever she wishes. Personally, I view her behavior as deplorable and contrary to the very nature of our country -- where there's room for all points of view.

Springsteen and Cooper aren't really in the same league in my view. I never liked Alice Cooper but The Boss can write and sing a song.

I don't take my politics from singers of any genre, but I'm sure they have an impact. Why would the Republicans have all those C & W singers at their convention if it didn't matter?

By the way, did anyone else see the very excellent CNN poll in which they asked which party was better dealing with the media? I voted for the Republicans. They are killing Kerry right now. MoveOn.Org is the brightest light on the political landscape in terms of media, IMHO.

so it is deplorable to boycott that which you disagree with? sorry but I fail to see where this is a problem at all.....

She thinks springstein is partisan (which he is) and she encourages people to boycott his show..big whoop.

I actally agree with Coopers assesment of the situation, anyone that gives a rats ass what a hollywood star or rock and roller thinks about politics needs to have their head examined IMHO.

Yes, he did lose. And then his son came back and won 8 years later - maybe he only had problems iwth George senior, and now that they suck and need money he likes Dub 😉
What ever, that still doesn't make your original post any less ignorant.

Yeah Al, that looks like ownage to me. 😀

Ownage? Wow you guys really are grasping for straws  That's the best you can do?

Perhaps I should explain myself in more detail. My example was of a rock star threatening to leave the country if "x" was elected. Now, with everything we hear about "w", shouldn't those principles still stand? Especially since all the libs tell me that "w" is much much worse than "x"? So why are they still here? I bet I can find loads of direct examples if you like 🙂

(I would have used X & Y, but W was much more appropriate.)

I should also say that I was well aware of republican hypocrisy at that time. Newt was my poster child for that with his cancer/wife/hospital divorce. But I found liberal hypocrisy later in life. It's more "nuanced" you see, isn't as glaring as the family values one.
