I am starting to gather up parts to build a new computer for my dorm room when I go to college this fall. I'm just curious of what people that are more knowledgeable on this stuff think of my build so far. I'm looking for an easily upgradeable mid-to-high end gaming system. I know the graphics card is not the best but I will upgrade later as I simply cannot afforade an 8800 right now. I also want to see what comes out in the next year or so for competition. Also, what are some things you might change if you were building?

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 -$222.90
Video Card: EVGA GeForce 7900GS 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 -$144.99
RAM: G.SKILL 2GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory -$84.99
MOBO: MSI P6N SLI Platinum LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI ATX Intel -$144.99

Also, what are some good monitor suggestions under $300? preferably 20-22".

The other parts I can work out later as they are not as crucial.

Thanks for the help!

haha, yea right after I posted this I read about that price cut. So, with that I will probably be getting the Q6600. n/e ways what about this mobo? http://www.newegg.com/product/...p?item=N82E16813128048

Also, would this memory work with that board? http://www.newegg.com/product/...p?item=N82E16820231098

And no, I'm not interested in SLi. I would rather buy one great card than two mediocre ones. or, I could be completley wrong in my assumptions. what would you say is a better path to take?

About the monitor, do I even want a widescreen for gaming? or is it too much hassle?
