Yes Mani, I couldnt be more serious.

But how would a problem like this happen ? Can it just occur or do you have to be hit in the head or something?

About six months ago, I checked my mail, and as I was walking through the yard I was reading the mail. I ran the front right of my head into a all metal clothesline pole. And it knocked me down. Could something like this cause this ?

I must also add, that I get headaches in the front right part of my head several times a day, that last from anywhere from 3020 seconds.

Sounds like you're doing this, but definitely get it checked out asap. Stay safe and good luck.

If I were you I'd get to your doctor. You need to take internet medical advice with a grain of salt. Googling/WebMd are alright references, but they will never be able to tell you what your doctor can. There is a lot of misleading information on there. ATOT is probably the worst place for advice, especially of this nature. Though there are some members who are also members of the medical community, there are also a lot of jackasses.

The jackass significantly outnumber the people with actual medical training. Make an appointment and RELAX. Anxiety about what ever the problem, or possible problem is will not fix it. To be honest, it might make the few days before hand worse.

IIRC concussions can, if serious, cause fairly deep damage in the brain, and can certainly lead to symptoms of forgetfulness / disorientation / impaired motor control. Certainly to knock yourself down after hitting your head on a pole would potentially be a severe enough impact to cause concussive damage of some kind whether temporary or less so. I'd be sure to tell your doctors about that incident and also about any symptoms that may / may not be related like the forgetfulness and motor control stuff.

Unfortunately concussion damage is (AFAIK) not easily seen on CT / MRI, so often they can't really very clearly diagnose it that way or assess the extent / seriousness of the damage that way.

there was a small, fuzzy dot that they found in your basal ganglia on ct.

it sounds like a small bleed based on the description. talk to your neurologist. you'll probably need an mri to make sure what's up... it's easier to differentiate what the density was after t1 and t2 weighted images.

Well, the verdict of the MRI is that it is normal. I asked what the *spots* were and they said it could have been artifacts. Anyone know what that is ?

Artifacts are pretty much errors in the image. Similar to say dust spots in a picture.

Yeah, I wanted to ask you where the doc wants to go from here with your balance issues now that this has been ruled out.
